New Hairdo
Tumblr media
Older Mikaelson sister reader x Hope Mikaelson
Summary: You and Hope dye your guys' hair when everyone's out.
Warnings: none
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Y/n/n, Y/n/n, Y/n/n! I know what we should do today" Hope comes running into your room and jumps on your bed where you're reading Twisted Love. You look over to your 12-year-old sister and put your book to the side.
"What do you have in mind?" You ask. "We should dye our hair," She tells you. "Hmm, Hayley and Dad will definitely have something to say. And Uncle Elijah will probably say something along the lines of us having demonic tendencies. So, of course, we'd be fools to not dye our hair." You smirk at her.
"Yes!" She climbs off the bed. "What's that book about?" She asks you.
"Let's go get the dye" You lead her out of your room. If you ever tell your little sister the truth about what the books you read are about, you pity her ears and thoughts. So better left untouched.
You guys go to the closest store and buy a box of bright pink hair dye.
"Okay, so how are we gonna do this, whole head, highlights, or a couple streaks?" You pull out the bottle of dye and the brush applier it comes with out of the box.
"Umm, how about a couple streaks on each side" She tells you. "Good choice" You pass her a towel, "Here, put this around your shoulders and sit backward on the toilet.
She nods and follows your directions, sitting in the opposite direction on the closed toilet, and lays the towel around her shoulders under her hair.
You finish reading the directions, "Okay, seems easy enough. Let's do this" You squeeze the pink dye into the plastic bowl.
You apply the bright pink hair dye into a couple parts of her hair on each side. "Aaand, done. Now, you just gotta sit here for thirty minutes before rinsing it out" You tell her. "Okay." You set a timer, and then start on your own hair.
Once you both have washed your hair out, and blow dry your hair. Looking in the mirror, you both have huge smiles on your faces.
"We look awesome!" Hope tells you. "How could we not? We're amazing" You tickle her sides, making her screeche out a chuckle.
You guys are sitting on your bed, Hope leaning into your side. Your arm is wrapped around her, your hand rubbing up and down her shoulder. You guys are peacefully watching TV until Hayley walks into your room.
"Well, something definitely happened while we were away" Hayley pauses, noticing your guys' dyed hair.
"Something fun," Hope tells her mom. "Ahuh, please don't tell me that's permanent" Hayley looks over at you.
"Huh, I forgot to check the box," You say, making a thinking face. Seeing Hayley's eyes widen and her eyebrows raise up, you let out a chuckle. "Don't worry, Hayls, It washes out in some months" You tell her. "Plus, we look adorable" You kiss the top of Hope's head, making her chuckle.
One of Those Days
poly!mikaelsons x reader | request
summary: between the constant fighting and city clamor, you're overstimulated from the minute you wake up. you try to isolate until you feel better, but sometimes, that only makes things worse. luckily, your loving vampire partners are always there for you.
a/n: requested by @asexualaromosafezone - i am SO SORRY this took me literal months to complete. a couple days ago, i suddenly remembered i never filled it and finished it asap. i hope you like it, and again, so many apologies!
Tumblr media
Sometimes, you wake up, and can immediately tell it’ll be a hard day. The sun has barely risen, yet there’s already a million noises coming through your window. Chatters of people having their morning walks, car horns from those too impatient to let them cross, the distant clang of a dropped pot, and-
“REBEKAHHH!”
-Klaus, yelling for his sister. At seven in the morning.
“What the bloody hell are you shouting for?! I’m right here!”
You sigh, glad that mystery solved quickly.
There’s probably a few more minutes until your alarm rings, so instead of getting up a little earlier, you opt to enjoy your last minutes of peace. Though you soon realize that’s impossible, given your circumstances. On top of the city sounds, there’s a bird right outside your window, and when you try to turn away from it, the tag on your blanket itches the inside of your thigh.
“Ugh!” You toss the blanket off.
Your alarm sounds not a second later.
With a slap to your phone and then another to your forehead, you decide to just get ready for the day. Luckily, not much is planned. Marcel still has control over the city, and with you being human, your Mikaelson hosts don’t want you outside at all.
See, you live with the family of original vampires. You used to be a Mystic Falls’ resident, but then after developing a close connection with the siblings, decided to move to New Orleans with them and get a fresh start. You were tired of the small town life, and while the big city can be overwhelming at times, you’ll never get sick of the culture it has to offer. Besides, living with the most powerful family makes you happier than you ever believed you could be.
As much as you love them, though, they can be a pain. Like when Klaus can’t find his sister, but forgets a whisper would summon her just as effectively. Instead, he has to wake up the whole quarter, and inconvenience you with a headache. When you reach the dining room that day, you slump your head on the table.
“Everything alright, darling?” Kol’s voice floats over your head, making you aware of his presence.
“Tired.”
“Is your bed comfortable enough? Do you need more blankets?”
You haven’t been in the city long, and his consideration warms your heart.
“Oh, I’m okay. I’m very comfy. Just haven’t gotten used to the city yet.”
“Ah, I understand.”
His attention drifts to his sister. You busy yourself with a plate of food and ignore how tired you feel. When Elijah sits beside you, you offer a smile, but don’t say anything. The man, polite as ever, does the same. Though while two of the siblings are quiet, the other two aren’t. Klaus and Rebekah are still on the same topic from earlier. They bounce off each other quickly, childish banter turning into an argument.
You try to eat in peace and ignore them, but it’s difficult. And it doesn’t help that you’ve been feeling down lately, anyway. It’s rather unexplainable, the way you feel. Some days you’d rather stay in bed all day than face the world. Your whole body could be begging for you to get up and get things done, but you just can’t. No matter how hard you fight your own mind, sometimes there’s no winning the raging war.
To make matters worse, you’re always hypersensitive when you find yourself in these low moods. Every little thing is overstimulating and there’s no pause button. This morning, you didn’t even get a chance to wake up before the sounds started. (Thanks, Klaus.) You roll your eyes in your head, annoyed.
“Hey.” A poke to your shoulder startles you, making you jump. “You okay?”
“Ooh, you caught me off guard.”
“Sorry,” Kol smiles, “you in deep thought, or rolling your eyes at Klaus’ statement?”
“Uh…” You bite your lip. You were rolling your eyes about Klaus, but missed whatever statement it was that he just made. “What did he say?”
“That he was on his way to have a little chat with Marcel. That will go swimmingly.”
“Oh.” You snort and decide to joke. “Both.”
Kol grins at you, but then, thankfully, leaves you alone again.
After breakfast, you retreat back into your room, not in the mood to face the day. If Klaus is really going to start shit with Marcel, it’ll be an intense day. You’ve never met the current king of the French Quarter, but Elijah’s told stories. Marcel and the family used to be close, but then, like all their other relationships, ties ended drastically.
“But not with you, of course,” he had promised. “You’re our girl.”
You were skeptical for a moment. Who wouldn’t be, knowing the Mikaelsons? But then Klaus approached you from behind with a kiss to your hair and confirmed his brother’s words,
“As long as we have your loyalty, you’ll always have ours.”
You could see the truth in his statement. Everyone who ended up on their bad side had betrayed them in some way. So, as long as you didn’t repeat others’ mistakes; as long as you kept your trust in the family, you would be considered family. And ever since the day you first grew close, you have been their family.
You’re close with all of the siblings. Elijah, first, when you couldn’t take your eyes off him at Damon’s dinner party. Then Rebekah, and then Kol, when he undaggered. Even Finn, before his untimely death - thanks to Matt, your good friend now worst enemy. Klaus took the longest to trust you, and you can’t blame him for having trust issues, but once he realized how much his siblings adored you, he was quick to accept your place with them.
Now, the five of you live together, nine hundred miles from your hometown. It’s certainly a change, but every day with them is an adventure.
Like today, you suddenly think, overhearing Elijah’s footsteps in the hallway. Today has definitely been one of those days.
“Y/N?” He stops outside your door.
“Mhm?”
“Can I come in?”
“Sure.”
Elijah opens the door, but doesn’t fully enter your room. He looks you up and down before smiling. “I just thought you seemed sad earlier and wanted to check on you. Is everything okay?”
“Oh!” You put on a brave face to mask the tiredness you feel internally. “Yeah, I’m just out of sorts today. It’s nothing.”
“Are you sure? Because if someone’s bothering you, that’s something we can take care of.”
“No, no, I promise. It’s all just me. Just having a day.”
“You’re positive?” He asks for confirmation again.
“Have I ever lied to you, ‘Lijah?”
He looks down at his shoes, embarrassed. “No, you haven’t. I apologize for doubting you.”
“It’s okay,” you step closer to him, resting against the door frame. “No need to apologize. But I swear, I just… woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something. New Orleans is a loud city. I’m still adjusting.”
“Okay. Well, call if you need anything. Even the smallest thing.”
“I will.”
“Oh, and be careful in the off-chance that Marcel storms in here. There’s a fight brewing in the quarter.”
“I’ll keep an eye out.”
“Better yet, stay inside for the day. So you’re not in harm’s way at all.”
“Okay, ‘Lijah.”
He smiles at you, then kisses your hand. “Now, I need to neutralize my brother. But I needed to make sure our girl was okay first.”
“She’s okay. Go deal with him.”
Elijah straightens his collar before speeding off to no doubt defend his brother in a fight. You love Klaus, but man, does he get angry. And then from anger, comes pure rage, then absolute chaos. Once situations escalate that far, the whole block better hide if they want to keep their hearts in their chest.
You sigh, thinking of the carnage that may come. You’re not sure you can deal with his anger issues today, especially not coupled with those of Marcel. Of all the days they have to fight, it’s the one that you might snap, too, if he raises his voice one more time.
Suddenly, your bed looks like the perfect oasis away from the mess behind your door. A good pillow over the ears might prevent an impending meltdown. You crawl into it at once and let your body melt into the mattress.
You hadn’t lied to Elijah, though you hadn’t given him the full truth, either. Yes, you are, in general, okay. Not necessarily today, but at that moment, you were. Also yes, you’re not feeling great today, partly because of all the city noise. And, finally, yes, most of it is just you and your body not in the mood to be awake. Though Klaus is contributing, just a little bit, to your mental distress today. Elijah would understand, of course, but then he’d have a talk with his brother about it, and you really didn’t want to burden either of them in that way, so you put on a smile and didn’t mention it. You’d bet Elijah knows the full truth, and knows why you won’t admit it, but he respects you if you don’t want to talk about it. That’s one of the reasons you love him so much.
You get a couple hours of rest until your slumber is interrupted by a new knock on your door. It’s not soft, like Elijah’s, so it must be one of the younger two.
“Oh no,” you mutter, wondering what it must be now.
“Y/N?” Rebekah’s voice comes from the other side. “Are you awake?”
“I am now.”
She opens the door as you reply. “Oh what the bloody hell are you still doing in bed?”
“Sleeping.”
“Obviously! Come watch a movie with Kol and I! We’d love your company.”
“An actual movie, or the public display of violence happening outside in the quarter?”
“We haven’t decided yet!” She grabs your hand. “Come on!”
You yawn. “I’m gonna pass today, I’m not up for it.”
“Awh, Y/N! It won’t be as fun without you!”
“I have a headache, Bex,” you fib.
“Do you want some blood for that?”
“Does that even work like that?”
She shrugs, “not sure.”
You cuddle into your pillow. “Another time, okay?”
The girl smiles, then leans forward to kiss your head. “Okay. If you change your mind, come find us.”
“I will. Thank you.”
“Dinner’s at seven. Will you be there?”
“Yeah,” you promise, “I should be better by then.”
You are not, in fact, better by then. If anything, your foul mood progressed into an actual headache within thirty minutes of Rebekah leaving. Shouts throughout the city managed to penetrate the thin glass of your windows, and you could hear almost everything as Klaus heckled the current king. For hours, it went on, until the sun went down and they assumedly put it off for another day. By seven o’clock, you were able to sneak in another nap, but you still felt way overstimulated from the day’s events.
Not to mention the fact that you spent all day in bed. Sometimes, you’re overstimulated by too much going on, but today you partly did it to yourself by hiding away all day. The guilt of avoiding everyone weighs on your chest. Rebekah had invited you to a movie; Elijah went out of his way to check up on you, and you had more or less dismissed them both. A bitter taste sits in your mouth when you think about it. Water doesn’t wash it out.
Hopefully dinner will.
For the first ten minutes, the night passes peacefully. Most of the conversation is focused between the meal and the movie the two had watched. The events of the day, seemingly, are left in the past.
But then, of course, Kol has to make a comment on something he overheard that he thought was funny. And that set Klaus off into a spewing of anger. He’s pissed at Marcel, but now, also, at Kol for bringing it up. Elijah puts his face in his hands, and Rebekah sends both a huge eye roll.
What was a moment of much-appreciated silence is now a yelling match. After five minutes, you reach your breaking point.
“Why do you feel the need to comment on that, Kol? It was so insignificant, but you’ve felt the need to bring it up, and now I’m reminded of how much Marcel has done to piss me off!”
“I didn’t mean to make you upset, bloody hell! I thought it was funny!”
“It wasn’t funny to me when he was spitting in my face! I-”
“Oh my god! Are you ever not arguing?!” You suddenly shout.
The table goes silent and all eyes are on you. A needle could be dropped and it would be heard across the quarter.
“I’m sorry,” you apologize quickly, embarrassed.
“Love,” Elijah puts a hand on your shoulder, “are you alright?”
At his touch, you flinch. He retracts his hand quickly, but doesn’t move his body away from its proximity to yours.
Klaus, although upset at the interruption, notices this and calms a little. “Everything okay, Y/N?”
“I’m fine. It’s nothing.”
“That little outburst didn’t sound like nothing.”
“I’m just stressed.”
“Darling, what’s got you all upset? Tell us and we’ll sort it out now.”
“It’s no one, Kol, I’m just not feeling well.”
“Still have a headache, sweetheart?” Rebekah asks.
“You have a headache?” Klaus butts in.
The assortment of questions makes you drop your head. It nearly hits the table, but Elijah grabs your frame before you can fall. Tears form in your eyes, visibly.
“I’m just really overstimulated today. I woke up weird and this city is loud, and then there was all the fighting all day long, and then I hid in my room all day, but then I felt bad about hiding, and now I’m making you all worried because I can’t get my shit under control!”
“And that’s your fault, how?” Elijah asks, “you cannot blame yourself for the way you feel.”
“But I need to handle my emotions better. I’m sorry.”
“No apologies necessary, love,” Klaus adds, “I certainly haven’t helped, fighting with children all day.”
“Niklaus,” Elijah warns, but Klaus doesn’t argue with him this time.
“I should’ve stayed with you when you said you had a headache.”
“Don’t blame yourself either, Bex. It’s not your fault.”
“But we could’ve cuddled,” she frowns.
“It’s okay. I got a nap, and it helped a little. I just need to get used to my life being different now. None of you are at fault.”
“Nor are you,” the eldest reminds, “it’s been quite a day for us all.”
Kol clears his throat, “say, after dinner, if you feel up to it, we could all watch a movie and cuddle around you? I think some comfort is much needed.”
“Sure,” you agree, “but I might fall asleep during it.”
“That’s quite alright,” he smiles. He then stands up to hug you, but when his arms wrap around your neck, you freeze.
“Not yet, please. I’m still a bit stressed.”
He gives you a wink. “Of course, darling. Let me know when you’re ready.”
Klaus flicks his napkin across the table. He’s folded it into the shape of a heart. “We love you. You know that, right?”
You take the heart, kiss it, and put it in your pocket. “I do. I love you all, too. Thanks for understanding.”
Place to Stay part 25(Klaus M. x Gilbert!Reader x Elijah M.)
A/N: Hello everyone and I'm really sorry about the long wait! I haven't been feeling great and I am completely lost with this story so I would love to hear your guys's ideas about the story. All comments and likes and stuff are really appreciated!!
-S
+2300ish words, proof read by @Ana_Mia_Lisa on ao3.
Tumblr media
Lying in bed with darkness surrounding me was comforting. I could forget who I was and the deeds I had done on the last day or two. The only problem was that I laid in that massive bed alone, while Klaus moved to one of his many guest rooms. I felt bad for taking his bed, but Klaus had insisted on it. He had insisted on the fact that we should not go further than the kisses we had shared after I showed up on his doorsteps. I knew I might be annoyed by his behavior now, alas, I would probably thank him for that. But having the room only to myself made me feel like I wasn’t being watched at every second.
I pulled the cover over my head, giving myself a nice, dark place. Being alone in the darkness, I felt a knot of hair at the back of my hair and I let out a deep sigh. I have had a headache since I first woke up. I had been up for nearly an hour trying to fall back asleep, but my thoughts didn’t let me do that. Instead, I had fallen into a quiet, hyperventilating mess, and because of a miracle, no one had heard me.
This time it didn’t take an hour to fall asleep. After all, I was exhausted. I had been exhausted for so long. I was asleep for minutes but it didn’t give me the rest I was so desperate for. My dreams are filled with images of Damon’s blood covering my body, of me killing him for good. But none of those images brought me joy.
---
The raindrops hitting the window woke me up a third time. My sleep had been restless so waking up when my body didn’t any less rested as I felt when going to bed didn’t really surprise me. But it was calm, and mostly quiet except for the tiny dripping sounds of the raindrops.
I closed my eyes again, hoping to get back to sleep. But the sleep would not return to me. Instead, the rain was overshadowed by fighting somewhere in the house. It was known that the Mikaelson family had its own issues but still; I wished I could yell at them to stop and let me sleep for just a minute longer.
But all the sleep was pushed away from me when I heard my name being yelled at by a person I had known my whole life. I forced myself up and out of the warm covers and took one deep breath. Talking to my sister was going to be a hell of a screaming match and I was nowhere near being ready for that.
I put my college pants back on and quickly made sure I was looking at least semi presentable.
Walking out of the door was a shock just because the first thing I heard was my name being screamed once again by my sister. I didn’t want to see her face full of disappointment and anger that I had become so accustomed to.
I walked to the first floor trying to find the source of the yelling.
Also in the living room was my sister Stefan while Kol was lying on a couch, clearly intrigued by the screaming. Klaus meanwhile was sitting in an armchair, but the hybrid didn’t seem as impressed as his brother with the topic at hand.
“What’s going on?” I asked, walking in and getting everyone's attention.
Klaus almost jumped off of his chair and came to me taking a hold of my hand as if asking if I was okay. I smiled at him trying to reassure him of my mental state and turned my attention to my sister. My sister who looked disgusted by my closeness with the hybrid.
“What is going on?” I asked again and walked past Klaus to my sister.
“You really need to ask what was going on after you let Elijah and Klaus torture Damon and then stabbed him yourself.”
I knew Elena was going to be upset but still it always hurt to see your only sister, only surviving family being upset by your actions, and your actions only.
“Oh, calling it torture is a very big overstatement and I’m sure Damon is just fine and recovered from his wounds. And after all you have been there to nurse him back to help, I’m sure.” Elijah said, leaning on a door frame.
I had to be thankful for Elijah saying something before I could embarrass myself. What I didn’t like was the clear innuendo that my sister was being more intimate with Damon than she should have (not that I had any room to judge how she spends her time).
Kol let out a laugh enjoying the drama more than anyone should, but judging an immortal vampire was barely my place either.
“What is it?” I asked as calmly as I did not want to continue bickering. I took my sister’s hand to mine trying to unpack the tension in the room. First, Elena looked at my hand that was holding hers and then turned to look at my face, unsure what to do next. I smiled at her, so dearly wanting to infuse the situation. But she did not respond and lowered her gaze from me. We all waited for a moment in silence.
“We came to take you home…,”  Stefan said, when it was clear that my sister wouldn’t be speaking.
“Why would I come with you…?” I asked, confused, but I couldn’t pull my hand away from my sister's gentle grip.
My name was whispered so quietly that I almost missed it, before turning to my sister.
“I- I found Jenna’s ring, you know the one that she promised you. I- I was wondering if you still wanted it…”
For a quick moment, I didn’t see my sister in front of me. I saw the young girl who was terrified for life and cried silently at our parents' funeral. A young girl who was just as traumatized by her past as I was. She missed them so much, even if she didn’t talk about it with me, but she did miss them. She most likely still blames herself with Jenna’s death, and a clump traveled to my throat and my headache sent needles to my temples. I wanted to sleep, sleep on my own bed and fall into a deep sleep where I couldn’t be woken up by tiny raindrops.
Another stab went through my head and the bright lights forced my eyes to flutter, trying to be okay with the lighting.
“Yeah…, I- I would still like it if it’s okay with you.”
“Of course…,”
“Let me just get my stuff and you know get ready…” I said, before letting go of Elenas hand and almost ran away back to my safe haven.
I threw the door open and ran to the small pile that included yesterday's clothing, clothing that was partially covered in Damon’s blood and tears. I bit my lip and turned away from my clothes.
I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if I borrowed his clothing for a moment.
I checked that the door was closed just to be sure, before hesitantly walking to Klaus’s closet. I wanted to be quick for the people downstairs and grab the first t-shirt and sweatpants I could find.
I pulled my catch against my chest before hearing a low laugh behind me.
I let out a small squeak out of panic and turned around only to see Klaus leaning on the door frame. For a moment I waited for a teasing comment by the hybrid about seeing me changing. I smiled already waiting for the comment, but it never came. Klaus looked mad and clearly had no time for humor. I let my smile fall and I pressed the pile to my chest, like it could protect me from anything.
“Is something wrong?” I asked, kind of scared of the reaction I might get from him.
“Your sister seems nervous…,” Klaus said quietly while walking right in front of me and I couldn’t help but to take an involuntary step back.
“What do you mean?” I asked, wanting to stay oblivious to the subtext but I saw the anger bubbling under his skin.
But in my mind, I wanted to scream, for once I had a good feeling about my sister. About the possibility of me not crying myself asleep for a fucking once. That I could have a nice day with my sister. So why, why was Klaus trying to ruin it?
“Don’t...,” I whispered, warning him of something that I had no power to do.
“I’m trying to keep you safe, when you clearly cannot do it yourself.”
I had seen Klaus angry many times before, but not once had that anger been towards me. But now I can understand the reactions that my friends gave when they were the reason for his anger. *
I took another step back until the backs of my knees hit the bed.
“Maybe she is just scared of being in a house with the man who killed her aunt.”
I saw immediately that Klaus’s gaze softened. At least he had some sense of understanding to look apologetic. We hadn’t talked about the happenings of the full moon when Klaus had broken his curse and I was more than happy to bury it deep inside of me. I had learned to look at how bad the situation had been in all parts but still it didn’t mean that I didn’t miss my aunt.
Klaus whispered my name and brought me back to reality with it.
“I’m sorry, is that what you believe that I might care about your well-being?” Klaus was clearly annoyed by my distrust but still understanding of me wanting to be on my sister's side.
“I don’t know...,” I admitted and let myself fall on the feather light bed.
Klaus walked in front of me and pressed his warm hand against my cheek. His touch was so gentle and such a rare sight of kindness. I wanted to melt to his touch, I did melt to his touch. I wanted to kiss him and tell him of all the things I wanted to do.
A tiny smile got to my lips.
“If you cannot believe me, let’s say that what I'm about to do was my idea, and my idea alone..., can you accept that?” There was a tiny sense of pleading in his voice and my need to kiss him grew even more.
“I just don’t want anyone to get hurt,” I whispered, not sure if I was saying yes to the hybrid’s plan. Maybe, it was just a statement without any correlation to anything we had spoken before.
“No one needs to get hurt… You trust me, don’t you.”
I looked up to see the gentle face of the man who had committed such horrible acts throughout history. I leaned to his touch.
“Yeah, I trust you…” I admitted and took his hand to mine, carefully pulling him down to the bed with me. And to my surprise Klaus sat down next to me without a fight.
“You are so beautiful, love…” Klaus said so quietly that I barely heard him but still his words got a smile to my face. It was nice to know that someone found you pretty, especially when normally you were mostly ignored by the people around you.
But I had never been too good with telling my feelings to the people that I cared about. Particularly to the people who didn’t need to be around me.
I didn’t know what to say. Was there an obvious answer to someone calling you pretty?
So, I leaned in, giving him the time to push away, but he didn’t, letting me kiss him.
There was no fire in the kiss. Just a gentle kiss, where both parties are scared of scaring the other person away. Like the fear of breaking the surface of the calm ocean that surrounded us.
I pushed myself closer to him and pressed my hands to his chest slowly giving him the hint of laying down to the bed. Klaus got the hint quickly but wrapped his arms around you and took me to the bed with him. Klaus’s hands went up and down on my body, melting me to his arms. I was basically laying on top of him, trying to not to crush him. I needed to feel more, more of him, more of passion, more of anything that would keep my mind out of the mess of this town and its people.
Klaus’s hands traveled down my back to my hips, while gently pulling me closer to him. Maybe Klaus felt the same way, maybe he is just as tired as I am. Maybe this is one way that he can feel like in control, like he isn’t just a pawn in someone else’s game.
Maybe I could make him feel better about... well everything.
But like so many times before, there was an unnecessary interruption.
Someone cleared their throat and had to push myself off of Klaus’s touch that I wouldn’t simply ignore the person interrupting us.
Klaus seemed clearly as bothered by the interruption as me, but still let me get off of him but didn’t bother sitting up as I did.
But when I looked at the door, I simply wanted to die. Die and crawl to the deepest part of hell where no one could ever find me. Because at the door was standing my sister, who had nothing but bewilderment on her face, and Elijah who seemed to enjoy the situation a lot more than it should be allowed.
“Hi...;” I said, trying to break the absurd tension but not succeeding as well as I would have hoped.
“Are you ready to leave...?” I liked to think I knew my sister well, and moments like this proved it. There was a tiniest bit of anger and pain in her eyes. But she still tried to keep it together and I appreciated her for not yelling in front of Klaus and Elijah.
But I knew what was going to happen.
Yes and yes time for just the fluffy soft Mikaelson fic
Warnings: Fluff just all around Mikaelson fluff
You were just a poor waitress working two jobs to support your sick mother when you met Elijah. And you had dated Elijah for a year before meeting his siblings and after talking it out you began seeing Finn, Klaus, and Kol. When you began to have feelings for them also and Elijah wasn't surprised. Elijah informed you it wasn't the time he shared a lover with his brothers.
Your marriage was blissful even if Hayley was a little jealous of you and Hope adored you. You first pregnancy with the twins was a surprise but Finn was happy to be a father. Then Kol and you having Alicia and Elijah fathering Xavier with Klaus being the father of Alastair.
You had woke early getting out of bed before Finn got up so you could get started on washing the kids hair with Hope's help. Brianna and Alicia wanted braids like yours, Jasmine wanted twists while Xavier wanted puffy hair.
"Puffy hair?" You asked Xavier when he climbed into the chair with him smiling brightly at you. Brianna was helping her sisters get dressed with Hope also helping.
"Like grandpa." Xavier said pulling a chuckle from you remembering you had took the kids to see your parents the other day.
"Right puffy hair." You say kissing Xavier's head. Kids dressed and picking up Alastair from Elijah's chest, you all head downstairs for breakfast. You placed Alastair in his highchair giving him a bottle with Xavier climbing up next to him.
"Alright my babies let's make some breakfast for everyone." You say pulling up your Spotify Playlist on your phone. Xavier right away jumped up when the first play of the tune and Cardi B's voice came out of the speakers.
Drop top Porsche (Porsche), Rollie' on my wrist (wrist). Diamonds up and down my chain (aha). Cardi B, straight stuntin', can't tell me nothin'. Bossed up and I changed the game (you see me?). It's my big Bronx boogie, got all them girls shook (shook). My big, fat ass got all them boys hooked (hooked). I went from dollar bills, now we poppin' rubber bands (ha). Bruno sang to me, while I do my money dance like ayy. Flexin' on the gram like ayy. Hit the Lil' Jon, okay (okay), okay (okay) Oh yeah, we drippin' in finesse and getting paid, ow
Ooh, don't we look good together? There's a reason why they watch all night long. Yeah, know we'll turn heads forever. So tonight I'm gonna show off.
You smiled watching your son begin to dance as Alicia joined him, both singing along. Jasmine grinned also joining in while Brianna and Hope stayed next to you helping. Alastair kicked his little feet trying to dance along while clapping his hands.
Your mornings were always like this, you would play black centric music from a Playlist your father gave you. Your dad claimed the kids needed to know their culture and the joys of black music which always made you chuckled. But you couldn't deny how cute the kids were dancing and singing along to the music every morning.
When I'm walkin' with you. I watch the whole room change, Baby, that's what you do. No, my baby, don't play. Blame it on my confidence Oh, blame it on your measurements shut that shit down on sight. That's right
We out here drippin' in finesse. It don't make no sense. Out here drippin' in finesse. You know it, you know it. We out here drippin' in finesse. It don't make no sense. Out here drippin' in finesse. You know it, you know it.
Elijah woke up first groaning still feeling tired and panicked for a moment when he didn't feel Alastair on his chest but relax hearing the baby with you. Finn woke when he didn't feel you in bed next to him before realizing what time it was and got up.
Klaus groaned as he woke not surprised that the twins weren't on his back knowing it was wash day. Kol dragged hisself down stairs with his brothers hearing little voices singing and movement. The men paused smiling seeing you cooking while you sang with the kids dancing around the kitchen.
"Yeah, we got it goin' on, got it goin' on. Don't it feel so good to be us, ay? Yeah, we got it goin' on, got it goin' on. Girl, we we got it goin' on. Girl, we got it goin on. Don't it feel so good to be us, ay? (Feels so good) Yeah, we got it goin on, got it goin on (with you)." You sang holding Alastair dancing making the baby laugh. Brianna and Alicia were dancing with Xavier while Jasmine was singing along with Hope.
"When I'm walkin' with you, I watch the whole room change. Baby, that's what you do. No, my baby, don't play. Blame it on my confidence Oh, blame it on your measurements. Shut that shit down on sight, that's right." Kol couldn't help but sing along joining in making the the kids squeal with delight.
"We out here drippin' in finesse. It don't make no sense, out here drippin' in finesse. You know it, you know it. We out drippin in finesse. It don't make no sense, out here drippin in finesse. You know it,, you know it.Yeah, we got it goin' on, got it goin' on. Don't it feel so good to be us, ay? Yeah, we got it goin' on, got it goin' on. You know it, you know it."
Elijah smiled leaning against the doorframe watching with a smile with Finn. It was cute watching their wife and kids just dancing and singing before Jasmine trotted over wanting Elijah to join. And the was how they spent the morning, just dancing and singing while making breakfast.
(Very Irrational) Rational Thinking
Tumblr media
(Not my gif)
Title: Rational Thinking
Word Count: Big
Summary: You were good at keeping yourself away from the supernatural, you were good at protecting yourself. Then you met Kol. Kol made you curious and curiosity had always been your downfall. You knew you needed to keep your defenses up if you wanted to live - vampires could not be trusted... but Kol made you curious... || Kol Mikaelson x Prodigy!reader
Warnings: This one's a little dark, talk of murder, torture, actual murder... Canon typical violence I guess? But it's also adorable as all frick so you need to read. Starts out a little slow, but I promise it's worth it.
Here lies my complete Masterlist!
Write your words in cursive
You make me so nervous
You got my heart pulsing
Wish you were more repulsive
You're my favorite nightmare
and for once I'm not scared
You made a good impression
You make me wanna question
Every Little Thing
-Every Little Thing by Cybergirlfriend
"I have to meet with her, we have to find out what Esther wants." Elena's stubborn tone carried so easily from the kitchen where she stood with the Salvatore psychos, to where you sat on the couch in the living room. You rolled your eyes and sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. You had continuously told her how easy it would be for any vampire to spy on these little scheming sessions of hers and report everything back to Klaus, all one of the dirty bloodsuckers would have to do is stand outside. But did she ever listen? Nope.
At this point, you weren't even sure why you still bothered to try and help. You had only offered your assistance in the first place because Jeremy had begged you to.
When your childhood best friend had found out that you were aware of the Supernatural whatnot going on in the town, he'd been rather hurt that you hadn't told him of your discovery sooner and the two of you had gotten into an argument - something about how best friends shouldn't keep secrets and also feelings, but even after two hours of Jeremy trying to explain and milkshakes you still didn't really understand. He said that he'd been terrified to tell you about the things going on in his life because he thought you would laugh or call him crazy. You wouldn't have, of course, seeing as you'd known the big secret before he had. (Your discovery of the vampires in town, and subsequently the rest of the supernatural, was something of a funny story actually. That story involved Damon trying to eat you, a heavily modified stun gun devoid of all safety features, and what you hoped was a very uncomfortable ride over the falls for Damon who you had bound, gagged, and stashed in a large oak chest from your garage which you dumped into the river. Damon had never bothered you [with lethal intent] ever again.) When Jeremy had found out his sister’s secret, you had instantly been able to tell - simply by the look on his face. You'd never been good at understanding people or emotions. This time, however, you could tell that your actions had seriously hurt him. Apologies really weren't your thing, but you couldn't lose the only friend you'd ever had so you explained your reasons and counted yourself lucky that he was willing to forgive you… on one condition. Jeremy made you promise to keep an eye out on Elena and her protection squad. Even though Jeremy was livid with his sister, he didn't want her to die. He made you pinky promise on it.
So that's how you'd found yourself here, lounging on the Gilbert couch, stuffing your face with Doritos while you suffered through listening to Elena's determination to get herself dead. It was exhausting but a promise is a promise, you supposed, even if the person with whom you made the promise gets compelled to whisk himself away to Denver.
"Do you have a death wish?" Damon demanded.
'Here we go again,' You thought, restraining a groan.
"No, but-"
"Then what, Elena? 'Cause that's the only logical illogical reason I can think of for you to want to be within ten miles of some crazy witch who's already tried to kill you. Twice!" Damon practically shouted. So much for secrecy. Now was probably the time for you to chime in seeing as the few brain cells contained within that room seemed to be getting tossed aside in favor of fragile feelings and even more fragile egos. You folded down the top of your bag of Doritos and placed it neatly on the coffee table before standing up and sauntering your way towards the kitchen.
"We need that information, Damon!" Elena's voice was so whiny. Good heavens, it was annoying. "I'm going whether you like it or not!"
"Here's a bright idea: how 'bout ya' don't," You chimed in, leaning against the door frame. Damon turned to glance at you, brows raised in surprise. The two of you almost never agreed on anything and for good reason.
He shoved a finger at you and turned back to Elena as if trying to prove a point. "See? Listen to the Valedictorian!"
"Wait, why are you-" Elena looked at you with confusion. "Jeremy's not here…" She said slowly.
"He isn't?!" You gasped mockingly. "Oh my gosh, I didn't notice that!" Your sarcasm was met with a glare from the doppelganger. Elena had never liked you, she thought you were a bad influence on Jeremy - the feeling was mutual.
"Then why are you still here? I thought you left," She said. Had she not heard you munching on Doritos? Geez, Louise! Were you the only person who used their senses around here?
"One can only spend so long at the Grille, my dear friend's sister, before one starts to develop a permanent bad taste in music," You replied with a smirk.
"You could always go home," Elena pointed out.
"Home?" You stuck out your tongue. "Blegh, gross."
"You know, despite what Jeremy says, this isn't actually your house," She huffed, crossing her arms and shaking her head.
That hit a nerve.
She knew full well why you hated your house.
Testing for an IQ higher than Steven Hawking had its drawbacks and your mother was a vain and narcissistic woman. “You’re too distracted, Y/N! I will not be the mother of an almost genius, do you understand me? Get back to work, and this time, focus! If you can’t solve the problem, you are worthless!”
You shoved those words right back to where they came from and sent Elena a sickeningly sweet smile.
“True, however, I am rather fond of the place and, at the rate you three are going, Klaus or some other wack-job is likely to burn it to the ground within the month.” You shrugged. “Someone has to make sure Jeremy has a home to come back to and it’s sure as hell not gonna be you seeing as you’re too busy messing around with two mass-murderers!”
Elena blinked. Then her expression twisted into a scowl. “Stefan, could you please just-” She gestured at you vaguely. Stefan sent you a sideways glance to which you responded with a cheeky wave.
He sighed. “I can’t.”
The Gilbert girl frowned. “Why not?”
Your face split into a grin. “Because this.” You leaned over to Stefan and trailed a finger along his bare forearm. The vampire hissed in pain as the path where you touched him burned like he’d been branded. He tried to jerk away from you but you grabbed a hold of his arm, smirking pointedly at Elena.
“Okay! We get it!” Damon yanked your hand off his brother, burning himself in the process. You just shrugged innocently. “Psychopath,” He muttered under his breath.
“Sociopathically-inclined genius, actually,” You corrected. “Either way, I know where you live.”
“If you want her to leave so bad, Elena, then why don’t you just take care of her yourself?” Stefan asked, rubbing at the fading burns. Elena, however, was too shocked to speak, or at least, to do so coherently.
“H-h-how… How d-did… How did you? What!?”
“Vervain in my soap, lotion, and pretty much everything else,” You answered. “It’s like using essential oils, but instead of smelling good, I burn vampires. Pretty cool, eh?”
“No!” She huffed. “That’s awful! A-and why would you burn Stefan?”
Your eyes darted between faces in the room and you realized that you were apparently the only one who found all this funny. You frowned, feeling a little guilty about it now. People were so confusing! You wished Jeremy was there to explain it to you.
“Because I could,” You said like it was obvious. “Also, you three were being unbearably stupid again, so…”
“Oh yeah? And what does Miss Einstein think about all this?” Damon challenged, raising a brow.
“I don’t think Elena should go to the ball,” You deadpanned.
“Well, I’m still going,” She sneered. Damon rolled his eyes and turned back to her.
“It’s a trap, Elena!” He pressed. “How can you possibly miss that? Admiral Ackbar would be rolling in his fishy grave.”
“You don’t know that,” She countered. Damon turned to you with a very desperate look on his face.
“Back me up here!” He begged.
“It’s a trap,” You agreed. He shot you a look.
“Tone down the enthusiasm, why don’tcha?” He deadpanned.
“You didn’t let me finish.” You chuckled, hauling yourself up to sit on the kitchen table and pointing an accusatory finger at the raven-haired Salvatore. “I said it’s a trap, I never said that trap was for Elena. In fact, twenty bucks and a half-eaten family sized bag of Doritos says it’s not!” All you got in response was a trio of confused stares and then all three started talking at once.
Elena scoffed. “Who else would the trap be set for?”
Damon glared. “I thought you were on my side!”
And poor Stefan just looked lost. “How’d you eat the Doritos so fast? We’ve been here five minutes…”
You giggled and grabbed a fingernail file off the table, starting to work on your nails while you talked. “Well, first off, not everything revolves around you, Elena; you’re just a pawn in a very long game of chess. B- Wait, no… Secondly, Damon, I will never be on your side about anything any time any place ever. And lastly, Stefie, I stack the chips and shove ‘em in. Saves time.”
“Oh.” Stefan nodded to himself. “That’s smart.”
“Thanks.”
Damon rolled his eyes. “Of course the trap is for Elena, Momma Original has already tried to kill her twice and third times the charm.”
“No, Momma Original has tried to prevent Klaus from making hybrids twice,” You corrected. “What y’all fail to realize is that copy-n-paste face Mcgee over here is entirely useless outside of what her magic blood can do. The woman turned her kids into monsters, for crying out loud! If Esther wanted Elena’s blood, all she would have to do is walk right in this place and take it. She hasn’t. That tells us two things, anyone care to guess?”
You got nothing but silence.
“Really? How have you guys not figured this out?” You laughed. “What is it like in your tiny little brains? Must be so boring!”
“Why can’t you just give it to us straight?” Elena complained.
"Fine," You sneered. “Witchy-Wacko wants to kill her kids. Link ‘em together, undo the curse, knock ‘em over like dominos and probably exterminate the rest of the vampire race while she’s at it. If you go to the ball, Esther will enact her plan and it will probably fail as most plans do when you three are involved with them - that's not mean it’s just statistically accurate - and that will only serve to tick our favorite thing of Vikings off even more which bodes well for absolutely no one. That’s all folks, thank you and goodnight!”
Leaving them all staring at you with various degrees of shock, you slipped off the table and skipped to the door. None of them moved and you left. You were about halfway up the street when Damon caught up to you.
“Hey! Tiny Sherlock!” He called after you. You didn’t stop walking but, in a blink, he was by your side anyway. “That was pretty impressive back there,” He said.
“No, that was obvious,” You countered.
“Tomato, potato.” He waved you off and you rolled your eyes. “Or at least it would be if you had ever even met Klaus or one of the other originals, but you haven’t.”
“So?”
“So you put that puzzle together based on scraps of conversations and second hand information,” Damon pointed out.
“Does this DVD come with scene selection?” You mused sarcastically. Damon rolled his eyes.
“Point is, I think that brain of yours could be really helpful.”
You raised a brow, glancing at him out of the corner of your eye. “Last time I heard you say the word helpful in context to me, the night ended with you getting 20,000 volts to your central nervous system before I dumped you in the river. I’d like you to consider your next words very carefully.”
“Come with me to the ball tonight,” Damon said, sending you a smirk. “Dance with a couple thousand year old killing machines, chat ‘em up, dig up dirt.”
You glanced at him to check to see if he was being serious. He was. Damon was actually serious. So, you started laughing, long and hard.
“Oh, Damon, Damon-bow-bayman-banana-fanna-mo-mayman DA-MON!” You slapped his shoulder. “You’re funny!”
He gave you a look that said you were crazy. “Was there an answer in all that or…”
“HECK NO! There’s an answer for you. No thanks, I choose life!” You declared, still laughing.
“Look, I’ll make it worth your while,” He offered.
“You couldn’t if you tried.”
“Then why not just do it out of the goodness of your heart? You do have one of those, right?” He asked, glancing at you as if to double-check. You stopped and twisted on your heel to face him, crossing your arms and sending him a chilling glare.
“Why? So you and the cult of Elena can use me like you use Bonnie Bennett?” You demanded. “I’d really rather not.” Then you started walking again.
“Don’t tell me you’re not just a little bit curious,” Damon’s voice drawled from behind you.
And that there was the precise moment that ruined every plan you’d ever made for your life. That was another downside to being a genius: enough was never enough. Ever since you had first heard of the Original family, you had been curious. You craved knowledge like other humans craved air.
“You wanna see ‘em, don’t you?” He continued. “You wanna see what a thousand years looks like. You wanna know their secrets as much as I do. Deny it all you want but you know deep down that itch won’t go away until you know everything there is to know about that messed up family. I know an addict when I see one, Y/N.”
He had you and you couldn't deny it. You were an addict, but you weren’t completely reckless. You spun around and fixed the manipulative vampire with a frigid glare.
“Listen to me very carefully, Damon. I may not be against you, but I am not your ally and I never will be because I know better than to trust a filthy parasite like you. Anything I’ve done to help assure Elena’s safety has been done out of the goodness of my heart and I am under no obligation to continue being so charitable.” Your tone was low, a clear threat in itself but Damon had always been rather thick. You reached out and grabbed his wrist, burning the skin on contact to accentuate your words. “I’ve survived this long because I play smart. I keep my head down, watch the tide, and predict the waves. Then when those waves come, I move out of the way. When I introduce myself to the Mikaelsons, I will do so on my terms. My decisions are not for you to influence or control. Do not ever attempt to manipulate me again.”
You released him when you finished and Damon blinked in surprise. Then his expression morphed into a smirk and he tilted his head, looking at you as if he were seeing you for the first time. “You said when,” He pointed out.
You smirked. “That I did.”
The next day, sometime around two in the afternoon, you were woken from a rather spectacular nap by the insistent chiming of your phone. You groaned and flung your arm out to grasp the device, opening it up and peering at the notification. You were surprised to find a text from Stefan lighting up the screen.
Now, despite any pain you may routinely cause him on the basis of misguided humor, Stefan was one of the few people you actually liked. He understood that you couldn't comprehend right versus wrong the same way as everyone else - that your brain had a very real physical deficiency when it came to the chemicals that produce the human sense of compassion - and he tried his best to be tolerant and kind to you despite that. Stefan was an empathetic person, he could feel for others in a way you just couldn’t understand. He confused you, and you frustrated him. Thus it really wasn't anything personal, but the two of you just couldn't be anything more than friendly acquaintances, which is all a fancy way of saying that Stefan never texted you unless he needed something… desperately.
But if he needed your help then you would give it. Because in some ways, Stefan was a bit like you - he tried his best, but more often than not, his best just wasn't enough for most people.
"You're not trying hard enough! If you were putting all your effort into this, you would have figured it out already. If you can't solve the problem, you are useless!"
You shook your head, pushing your mother's voice to the back of your mind and opening Stefan's message. It was short and the words seemed rushed, probably due to panic, but being Stefan he still tried to be sincere. The text read:
"You were right, and Elijah knows. They took Elena and will kill her if we don't find a way to stop Esther. I know you and Elena have your issues but please, Y/N, I really need your help."
Ah, so Elena had done exactly what you told her not to do. Golly gee, what a surprise!
Maybe you should just ignore Stefan’s cry for help and go back to sleep. Then maybe when you woke up Elena and the Mikaelsons would be dead - along with the entirety of the vampire race if your theory about bloodlines was correct - and aside from a twinge of guilt if Stefan died, you wouldn’t feel a thing. After all, Elena got herself into this mess and it was only right that she take responsibility. She should’ve trusted your advice, but she never would because even though you weren't actually a sociopath, your brain's reduced capacity for compassion was all that girl would ever see.
You didn’t care about very many people, that was true. But contrary to popular belief, you really did have a heart. It was just quite damaged from the influence of your mother's abuse, and people like her or Elena didn't exactly make you eager to open it up. Despite your best efforts, however, there were just some people who found their way past your harsh exterior, and for those people there was nothing you wouldn’t do. Jeremy was your best friend and Elena was his sister, and even though you wouldn’t care if she died, you wouldn’t do that to him. A promise is a promise.
“I’m always right, Steffie, and a big WELL, DUH to the rest but what do you need?”
“Damon told me you don’t want to be involved.”
“Then don’t involve me.”
He took a moment to reply and then:
“Mystic Grill.”
You smirked at that.
“On my way.”
The girl caught Kol’s attention the minute she walked through the door. She was stunning, with innocent features, soft H/C hair, and bright, attentive E/C eyes that paused on him just for a moment as they swept the room. Her clothes were more casual than what most of the people in the grill were wearing, just jeans and a t-shirt but she made them look great. Slipping a pair of headphones over her ears, she strode over to an empty booth with the confidence of someone who doesn’t care about the opinions of a single person in the room. When she sat down, the customers sitting in the booths on either side of hers glanced at one another nervously. Then, to Kol’s surprise, intrigue and delight, they all got up and moved to other tables. The girl shrugged off the bag she carried on her shoulder and removed a laptop which she set up on the table in front of her before beginning to type. A nefarious smile spread across Kol’s face and he nudged his brother in the side.
“What about that one?” He asked Klaus, nodding in the direction of the girl. Klaus looked where he’d pointed and a look of recognition crossed his face.
“That’s Y/N Y/L/N, she’s the Mystic Falls High School Valedictorian,” He answered, sounding bored.
“Aww… A good girl, that’s adorable,” Kol mused, his eyes focused on the girl. Klaus shrugged.
“From what I hear, she’s some sort of child prodigy.”
“Is she now?” Kol’s smile broke into a full-on grin and he set his drink down on the bar, running a hand through his hair. “Sounds like fun to me.”
“Good luck,” Klaus chuckled. The dark-haired boy shook his head and laughed.
“Oh, I don’t need luck.” Pushing away from the bar, he strode over to where the girl sat in her lonely booth, typing away. “Hello, darling.”
The girl didn’t look up, she just kept typing. Then she paused… she scrunched up her face… and continued typing. He figured she was off in her own little world and couldn’t hear him with those headphones on. So he slid into the booth beside her and leaned over, pushing one speaker off her ear. Her gaze slid from her computer screen to him and she raised a brow.
“Hi.” Kol flashed her his most innocent smile. In his hundreds of years on this planet, Kol had dated hundreds of girls like her - sweet, shy, and oh-so-innocent - nine times out of ten, he was the last boy those girls ever dated. Dolcina, for example - so beautiful and delectable and dead within the week. Good girls with good hearts made for tasty desserts. Besides, they always gave a good chase and that was half the fun.
The girl turned her head and flicked her sharp E/C eyes up and down his figure, but not the way he was used to. Her gaze wasn’t admiring, it was more cutting than that - like she was studying him, searching him for any and all the information she could gather. Then she opened her mouth.
"Athazagoraphobic, emotionally dysregulated, compulsive flirt," She said, turning back to her laptop.
Kol blinked. Of all the responses he’d been expecting, that had not been one of them. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me just fine,” The girl replied. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips and her fingers continued tapping against the keyboard.
“I did,” He admitted, nodding. “But that’s not a very nice thing to say to someone.”
She snorted. “Who ever said I was nice?” The boy raised a brow, he seemed to have misjudged this one.
“Well you certainly look quite nice.”
“I’m really not,” Y/N smirked.
“That’s alright,” He said determinedly. “I like pretty little things with sharp tongues.”
She paused a moment, analyzing. Then her expression morphed into a combination of disgust and genuine confusion. "Is that some sort of pick-up line? If so, your ah... masculine wiles are in dire need of a little revision," She said.
“Oh, I like you.” He grinned. “Though for future reference, you should know that it’s not exactly polite to insult someone without knowing a thing about them, darling.” He folded his arms on the table and leaned forward, tilting his head at her. The girl scoffed, glancing at him.
“It wasn’t an insult, merely an observation - one that I came to based on things I could see after just one glance.” She sounded extremely confident. “Also, you’re quite the one to talk, considering that you seem to be incapable of keeping your eyes on my face.”
Kol tore his eyes away from admiring her delightful curves to focus on her face as she had indirectly directed. Y/N's gaze was fixed on him and her brilliant eyes held a challenge. Those eyes were deep and rolling with thoughts he couldn't decipher, but oh how he wanted to. Yes, he had most certainly been wrong about this girl, she was far more interesting than she had seemed. “What can I say?” He shrugged, grinning cheekily. “I’m an aesthete, take it as a compliment."
Y/N's mouth dropped open, she seemed genuinely surprised. "You think I'm pretty?"
Kol frowned, shaking his head. "Of course not." Her face fell but he wasn't done. "Pretty doesn't even begin to do justice to a vision such as yourself. No, I think you're nothing short of radiant, darling.  Especially those eyes, they're enchanting. " He could stare into their depths for hours, he thought, and he still wouldn't be able to tell what exactly was going on behind them.
"T-thank you…" She didn't seem to know what to do with that information.
"It's the truth." He shrugged, "Although, now I must say that if your mind is half as impressive as your outer appeal then you may never be able to get rid of me. Is it true what I heard about you?”
“Depends on who you heard it from,” She said, leaning back and crossing her arms. Kol let his eyes skim over her figure again, she was distracting. He had the sudden overwhelming urge to touch her, it felt like she was pulling him in.
“I heard you’re a genius,” He said, leaning closer.
“Y-you did?” Y/N’s voice was quieter this time, almost shy. Kol shifted closer, smirking as she moved away from him.
"That's the rumor," He hummed, moving his arm to cage her in.
“I heard a rumor too,” She said quietly, ducking her head. “You wanna know what it is?”
“Tell me,” He purred. She brought her lips close to his ear, whispering.
“I heard you suck at pool.”
Then Y/N ducked under his arm and skipped over to the billiard tables, glancing back to stick her tongue out and flip him off. Kol sat there for a moment, stunned. Y/N was smart, wicked smart, and had he been slightly less distracted by her gorgeous appearance he might have found the sense to be concerned about that. But he was very distracted. He glanced at Klaus and saw him get up to chase after the tasty little blonde he’d been dancing with at the ball. Normally, he would be hurt that Klaus didn’t care to stay and help him out, but again, Kol was very distracted.
“You’re on, darling.” He grinned and got up to follow Y/N to the billiard tables. The girl grabbed a cue and tossed it to him before removing the rack from the center of the table. She smiled at him sweetly.
“Go ahead,” She said, leaning on her cue. “You break.”
“My pleasure.” He didn’t even look at the table as he set up and took his shot, electing instead to keep his eyes on her. He hit his mark and the balls split, ricocheting off the sides of the table. He sank two balls on the first shot and hissed. “Oh dear, look at that... It would appear that rumor of yours is wrong, darling. What a shame."
“Guess you shouldn’t believe everything you hear, huh,” Y/N mused. She smirked at him and leaned down to take her shot. The ceramic spheres made a loud crack and Y/N sank three of them. Kol raised a brow, more than a little impressed. It had been a long, long time since he'd found himself a good challenge. The genius looked up, eyeing him critically, seeming to consider something. "I want your leather jacket," She announced for no particular reason.
Kol laughed. “That’s rather forward of you, but I am nothing if not a gentleman. As you wish, my lady.” He shrugged the jacket off and handed it to her.
“Thanks.” She tossed her hair and pulled it on.
The boy blinked and his throat went dry. She just looked so perfect. He hadn't even really considered it - he hardly knew this girl - and yet, she almost looked more natural wearing his jacket than he did. It was the strangest feeling that washed over him. Kol wanted to reach out and touch her, hold her because - and he was fully aware of how absurd the idea sounded - but it felt like he'd always been destined to do so. There was this warm sensation in his chest and it was like she was made just for him. No one else - just his, completely and utterly his. The possessive animal inside him stirred at the sight. Kol had never been particularly suited to self-restraint; when he liked something, he took it. Now, there was a genius of a girl standing in front of him, wearing his jacket and he wanted her. He'd never needed to kiss anyone more in his life, or his death.
Y/N narrowed her eyes at him.
"What?" She asked. He shook himself out of his stupor, pointing to the jacket,
“Did you mean you want that to borrow or…”
“You’re not getting this back,” Y/N deadpanned. His brows shot up at her lack of tact.
“Alright, fair enough. But as long as you’re wearing my clothes, you should at least ask me my name,” He reasoned. She thought about that for a moment.
“Yeah, okay. What’s your name?”
The smile she gave him was genuine this time and it sparked something inside him. It was like standing under a total solar eclipse. Though he hadn't known her for very long, he understood that smile was something rare. Kol had always been fascinated by rare, unique things, not to mention dangerous ones. Y/N just so happened to qualify as all three, and the sharpness in that girl's eyes left him wanting. Just the idea that she might concede to his desires this much excited him. How far might she let him push?
“I’m Kol,” He said. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” The boy reached for her hand but she pulled it away from him swiftly.
“Hello, Kol.” Maybe he would have found her behavior strange but he was too captivated by the way her tongue rolled around his name. He could imagine what it might be like to kiss her - how she might taste. Not only the flavor of her lips but everything inside her - he wanted it all.
His eyes drifted to her neck where he could faintly detect the thrumming of her pulse just beneath her perfect skin - the crimson spring flowing in her veins, just waiting for Kol to drink his fill. Desire overwhelmed him in an instant, fiery and demanding. He'd always found it difficult to separate lust from bloodlust and he'd never had the restraint to deny himself either one. He wanted both from her. He wanted to kiss her neck and bite it. He needed to pet her skin and tear it.
That girl's voice broke through his cloud of temptation.
He didn't want to hurt her, she was special. “It’s your turn. Also, this jacket smells good.”
Kol couldn’t help but laugh. What a peculiar lass. “Thank you?”
“You’re wel-” Y/N’s beautiful smile fell and her eyes focused on something behind him. “Oh, please tell me you’re not that stupid.”
Kol never got the chance to see what she was talking about. A sharp, searing pain he knew all too well bloomed in his chest - the pain of a dagger being shoved into his heart. A tortured whimper escaped his lips as every vein in his body burned and ran dry. He could feel his body shutting down, his hearing dulled and darkness swam in his vision. The last thing he saw was Y/N’s expression morphing into one of confusion and then horror. The last thing he heard before his heart stopped was her voice.
“Wait. Y-you’re hurting him. Stop!”
***
You tore your hands through your hair as you watched the life fade from Kol's eyes. The expression on his innocent features the moment that dagger pierced his heart would haunt you forever. Normally, the pain of others amused you, but not this time. Kol looked like he was in agony, and not only that, he had looked terrified. There was something in his eyes - something far, far too familiar because you'd seen it too many times before in your own - it was desperate and pleading. You could almost hear him screaming the same words you'd offered so many times as a child.
"Please don't lock me in here! I can focus! I can be good! Please don't leave me! Please don't lock me in!"
The boy's body slumped to the floor, obscured from the view of other customers by Meredith Fell's body. You bent down to him, taking his ashen face in your hands and letting your skin burn his in an effort to wake him up.
"No, no no… Kol, wake up!" He didn't wake up. Alaric raised a brow.
"You're a psychopath, what do you care?" He asked. You glared at him ferociously.
"Do you idiots have any idea what you've just done?" You spat with venom.
Meredith Fell scoffed, looking offended. "We just saved your life! How 'bout a little gratitude?"
"Gratitude?" You seethed. "Gratitude? You didn't save my life, you've just ended it!"
"Excuse me?"
"You made me complicit in this!" You whisper-shouted. "You just made me a target!"
"I'm sorry, but did you see the way he was looking at you?" Fell demanded.
"He wasn't going to hurt me," You insisted.
"He was staring at your neck!"
"He was just curious!" You argued. "Vampires do that!" Never once had you thought you would defend a vampire, especially an original, but they had been... wrong to stab him. Besides… Kol had called you pretty. Nobody had ever called you pretty before. You were always just smart - smart enough to know when someone was lying and Kol hadn't - you'd never been pretty.
"Okay, we can talk about this later but we need to go," Alaric said. He slung Kol's arm over his shoulders and Meredith took the other side and together they dragged a desiccated vampire corpse out of a busy bar in broad daylight. You grabbed a napkin and stomped after them, scribbling down your name and address as you went. Just before they reached the alley door, you slipped in front of Meredith and Alaric. "What are you doing?" The latter asked as you stuffed the napkin with your information on it into the mostly dead vampire's pocket.
"Giving myself something of a chance," You mumbled, switching your pen out for a sharpie and writing: 'Check your pocket,' on Kol's hand. You looked up. "Also, you guys can tell Stefan and Damon that this is the last time I do them any favors. From now on it's tit-for-tat only. Good luck stormin' the castle."
Then you turned on your heel and went home. Two hours later, you got a text from Stefan.
"I'm sorry about what happened."
But you weren't taking any of that.
"Save it. We both know you don't mean it. No more favors."
A few minutes later:
"I understand."
The doorbell rang downstairs and your head shot up. Showtime. You couldn't hear whoever was at the door, but you could hear your mother. You were pretty sure people in Australia could hear your mother.
"No, no! Absolutely not! My daughter is a prodigy with an IQ of 180, and I will not have boys like you with your fake British accent, distracting her from her future. Now get off my porch before I call the police!"
You huffed a bitter laugh. The only future that woman cared about was her own because she'd birthed a genius and didn't that make her just so frickin' special. Special enough to scream at original vampires, apparently. Your mother was lucky that she was protected from the boy at the door by the magical barrier that kept him out, otherwise, she would probably be dead four times over.
"'Round the back, second balcony. You can climb right?" You kept your voice level and waited, knowing he could hear you.
There was a tapping on your balcony window. You smirked and turned around, moving to open the door. There stood Kol.
"Hello, darling." He was smiling and that made you uneasy. He should be mad… right?
"How'd you like the welcome wagon?" You asked, making a vague gesture in reference to what had happened downstairs. Kol grimaced.
"Your mother is…" He trailed off, shaking his head as if at a loss for words. "A special brand of awful."
"She's just a gem, ain't she?" You agreed, voice drenched in sarcasm.
"And on vervain," He noted.
"Yeah, sorry about that." You shrugged. "They slip it into the water supply here from time to time, just a heads up."
"Ah!" Kol nodded. "That explains it. I take it you know what I am?"
"I do." You smirked. The smile slipped from Kol's face and he stepped closer to the invisible barrier.
"Did you know they were going to dagger me?" He demanded, eyes darkening.
"No," You replied evenly. "I had no idea."
"Really?"
"I said no."
"I heard you, but you could be lying," He countered.
"You would know if I was lying, Kol," You pointed out. "You can hear my heartbeat."
"You're right." He nodded. His eyes flicked over your figure as if he were trying to reason something out. Then he held up his hand. Your handwriting, although a bit smudged, was still visible. "I got your little message… which doesn't come off, by the way. Is this all you wanted? To plead your innocence?"
"Well, unlike some people in this town, I actually have a brain. Plus, I like living. So the highly probable scenario of you hunting me down after the grill incident, doesn't work out for me too well. I figured you should know the truth before the next time you saw me so I wouldn't end up being dinner." You turned away from him and strode over to your bedside table, opening the drawer and retrieving a bottle of hand sanitizer. You closed the drawer and turned back to him. "This will get the marker off," You said, twirling the bottle.
A smirk spread across Kol's face and your stomach felt all weird all of a sudden. Were you coming down with something?
"Thank you, darling. Why don't you step out here and hand that to me?" He suggested, watching you with a look you couldn't identify.
You pretended to think about his proposition. "Mmmmm… Nah!" Then you tossed him the bottle which he caught with a slight frown.
"So there's no other reason you wanted me to come to your house?" He asked with a gentle smile. He looked so much like an eighteen-year-old boy then as he squirted some sanitizer on his hand and started rubbing the marker off. He looked so cute and innocent. You almost forgot he was an original vampire. Why did you want to forget that?
That look on his face when the dagger had pierced his heart flashed through your mind's eye, the pain of it. You remembered what it was like to feel that desperate fear. And he had called you pretty…
"I guess I also wanted to make sure you were okay," You admitted quietly. You never thought you would say those words to a vampire but here you were.
Kol froze and slowly looked up at you. "What?" His voice was so quiet and his expression held nothing but cautious disbelief. As if he were scared to hope that someone might care about him enough to ask that.
You bit your lip, fidgeting with your fingers nervously. "Th-the dagger-" You said. Your usually eloquent speech came out choppy, unsure. "You looked..." Your voice trailed off as you found yourself incapable of tearing your eyes away from his.
'You looked like me,' you wanted to say.
Of course, you couldn't say what you were really thinking. You cleared your throat and settled for, "It's just that getting stabbed doesn't sound too comfortable, so... A-are you alright?" The boy at your window shuffled his feet a bit.
"Honestly?" He sighed, dragging a hand through his dark hair. His hair looked soft. "It's been a bit of a rough night. Got daggered, which - you know, actually it's worse then getting stabbed if you can believe that - hurts like hell. Then, lucky me, when I woke up I found out that my own mother wants to kill her son for the abomination she made of me when she stripped away everything I ever loved." Kol's voice broke at the end and, as much as he was trying to appear unaffected by the night's events, you could tell that they seriously bothered him. More than that, really. He was in pain, and he was alone and he had to tell someone. Even if they could never understand. You did, though. More than he knew.
"I suppose you should know that I knew about that," You said softly, not wanting him to get mad. "Not about the dagger but I did know about your mom." His head shot up and the look in his eyes was one of hurt and betrayal.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He demanded, blinking rapidly.
"Because I'm not on your side." You rubbed your wrist, reassuring yourself that he couldn't come in.
"So you're with those dull-eyed cretins who want to kill me for no reason?" He accused, voice rising.
"Of course not," You scoffed. "Elena and her cult are all idiots."
"Then who's side are you on?!" He shouted. The doorframe to your balcony split with a sharp crack as his fist collided with it. You understood that anger - felt it before - not that he could see. Holes in your walls had been covered. Bruises on classmates had healed. Even so, you flinched, stumbling back. Then Kol did something you didn't expect. He blinked, and the anger in his eyes flickered out. He lifted his hands peaceably. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you."
Why would he apologize?
You nodded slowly but didn't come any closer. "I'm not on anyone's side, Kol. I just don't wanna die," You explained. "I don't really know you a-and Jeremy says Klaus and your family are the bad guys."
"And this Jeremy character just decides who's good and who's bad?" He tilted his head. "Why should you let him decide for you?"
"B-because I don't-" You shook your head and looked away. Kol's brows furrowed.
"You don't… what?"
"I can't tell the difference," You whispered. "Good and bad… it's hard for me."
It was hard - harder than it should have been. You felt such kinship with this boy - monster, whatever he was - but you couldn't side with him. You didn't even really understand why. Kol hadn't done anything wrong - not yet anyway.
Kol stepped closer to the invisible barrier that kept him out. "Do you think I'm bad?" He asked softly. It was confusing. He just seemed so... nice - almost sweet. No one talked to you that way. But, then again, he was a vampire, and preying upon human beings is usually frowned upon, so wasn't that enough?
"You're a vampire," You answered.
"But do you think I'm bad?" He pressed.
"I-I don't know." You shook your head.
This was all so confusing. Was he truly evil? Bloodlust was only in his nature - he couldn't help it. It's not considered morally wrong for a lion to prey on a gazelle. If Kol was a predator then how could you blame him for doing the supernatural equivalent? He didn't seem so bad but everyone said he was. Kol made you want to question everything you knew. You hated being unsure of things. You shrank away, hugging your arms around yourself. To your surprise, the boy said nothing. He just tilted his head patiently, giving you time to think.
It wasn't morality you needed to question here, you decided. It was safety. Your safety. If Kol was a predator, he would be tempted to hurt you. That wasn't safe. (It was a flimsy reason but you had to believe in something.)
"You're a vampire, Kol. You wanna hurt me."
He shook his head. "No, I don't."
He was lying; he had to be.
"Yes, you do! I'm human; you want my blood."
Kol sighed. "While I can't deny that last bit, I can say that I would much rather just have you." He chuckled a bit. "I happen to like you."
You shook your head. "I can't trust you."
"You don't have to be afraid of me, Y/N." His voice was so gentle and you wanted to believe him.
"Yes, I do. Fear keeps me alive," You insisted. "I mean, how many girls have you kissed and killed?"
Kol grimaced. "A lot. I'll admit to that, but I didn't really like any of them."
"And how do I know you're not lying?"
"You're smart enough to know when someone is lying, darling," He said, his lips twitching up in a smile. "I promise you can trust me."
You wanted to. You wanted to trust him so badly. He didn't seem like the bad guy. And if he was... then how many flimsy excuses made you different from him?
"I-I can't..."
"I know ." He nodded. You wondered what emotion could make his voice sound so thin. "But I'm asking."
You blinked. "Asking what?"
"Please don't be afraid," Kol begged. There was something very desperate in his eyes as he watched you. "I don't need much. Just one night. Please don't say there's nothing good left in me."
"How can I know?" You asked.
"Invite me in."
Your whole body tensed at the idea and you backed away from the balcony door, shaking your head. Kol had been right before, you knew how to spot a liar. "Why?"
A pained smile flickered across Kol's face and he took a shuddering breath. "I'd like to prove myself to you, if you'll let me… but mostly, I…" He trailed off, biting his lip and looking away.
"What?"
"I don't want to go home," He whispered. "My siblings are there and my mother wants to kill us all and I just… I don't want to see them right now…"
"Oh…"
That was right. He didn't need any more reminders. You knew how badly those hurt.
How could he be the bad guy? He hadn't lied at all and he wasn't even acting the least bit rude. Kol was kind, he treated you with respect - that was more than you could say of Elena and the so-called good guys. Jeremy was always good to you, but the rest of them? They only treated you with contempt. But this boy made you feel warm inside. How could Kol feel so warm and so familiar yet still be bad? It didn't make any sense!
"May I please stay with you for a bit? J-Just until you fall asleep a-and then I'll go. I promise. Please?"
You couldn't believe you were about to do this.
"You can come in."
A radiant smile spread across Kol's face. Then suddenly he was standing right in front of you. You gasped in fright and scrambled back, getting ready to defend yourself but Kol held his hands up in surrender.
"No, no! I'm sorry - I didn't think that through. Don't be afraid?" He pleaded, his eyes warm and kind.
"Alright." Your voice sounded small and the way he was looking at you made your heart flutter. "Now what?"
Kol grinned, and it made you happy because you could tell that he was. "Now I say thank you," He said, lifting a hand to touch your cheek. You quickly pulled away and felt a twinge of guilt when he looked hurt.
"You don't want to do that, Kol," You warned him, shaking your head.
"What do you mean?"
"You don't want to touch me," You clarified.
He smirked. "I really think I do." For the briefest moment, Kol skimmed his knuckles across your cheek and for once - just a split second - you didn't feel so utterly alone. Then he hissed in pain and pulled his hand away, frowning at the burned skin. "How?"
"Vervain." You shrugged. "I put it in pretty much everything… You know, soap, lotion, shampoo - I wash my clothes with it too."
"Oh." He looked disappointed for a moment, then he blinked twice and his eyes flicked back to you. Judging by the cheeky grin that spread across his face, you guessed he had an idea. "What about lipstick?"
"I don't wear lipstick…" You answered wondering where he was going with this.
"Perfect," Kol breathed.
"Huh?"
He stepped closer and wrapped his arms around your back, yet he didn't burn and you realized you were still wearing his jacket. Watching you carefully, he leaned down. You were confused as to what he was trying to do until Kol settled his lips on yours. You froze. You had never kissed anyone before, you had never been interested in kissing anyone. Everyone you knew thought you were a psychopath, they didn't give you the time of day. Besides, they were all slower than cold tar and that was just unappealing. This was new, he was new, and you had no idea what you should do so you just stood still. Did you want him to kiss you? Did you want to kiss him? You weren't sure. Why did feelings have to be so freaking confusing?
It was like he knew all that, though - like he knew this was your first. So he started you out slow. His lips hardly moved at first, just barely pressing and nipping at your own. You didn't pull away so he came back in and pressed just a little harder. Kol's lips were soft, the kiss was tender and thoughtful, and his hands were gentle - his previous confidence was gone and it felt as if he were afraid of scaring you away.
"How was that?" He whispered against your lips.
"Uh... p-pretty great," You stammered.
"Yeah?"
"Uh, huh."
He grinned. "Want me to do it again?"
"Uh, huh."
And he did. His lips moved against yours and this time you kissed him back. Kol moved his hands to your sides, careful to keep them on his jacket, and squeezed lightly. His touch had you relaxing for reasons you couldn't name, and you melted into him just a little. But it wasn't only you. Like a man seeking shelter from a storm, the boy sighed softly as his tongue flicked along your lower lip. You gasped and his grip on your waist tightened reassuringly.
"Relax," He whispered against your lips. "I won't hurt you."
"Okay." You nodded, fisting his shirt because you felt a little dizzy.
"More?"
You nodded and he captured your lips again. This was good, you decided; you liked this. Kol kept kissing you for a little while, flinching every now and then when your noses touched and you accidentally burned him. When he did pull away, he watched your flushed face with a bright smile.
"This mean you trust me now? He asked hopefully.
"I don't know, " You answered honestly.
"That's alright." He nodded. "Guess I'll just have to keep working to earn it then."
"Guess so," You agreed softly. There was a moment's pause. "How long were you in that coffin?" You asked out of the blue.
He frowned. "Nearly a century… why?"
"You need to see Men in Black," You decided. You grabbed a blanket and your laptop and rushed over to your bed, setting up the device.
"What are you-"
You patted the spot on the bed beside you. "Come here!"
Kol did as he was told, albeit cautiously, and when he reached the side of your bed you grabbed his shirt and pulled him down to sit beside you. He chuckled at your eagerness but sat down anyway, stretching his long legs out as much as he could. You placed the blanket over him so you could lay across his chest without taking the chance of hurting him and pressed play.
"So I take it, Men in Black is some sort of motion picture?" He spoke as the opening credits began.
"It's about aliens," You said. "You'll like it, it's funny."
"I'll take your word for it, darling."He chuckled, smiling softly.
"Good," You grinned. "But if you lose control and try to eat me, just know that I'll punch you really, really hard."
"I'll keep that in mind."
Then you shushed him because Tommy Lee Jones was on screen.
Damon’s face was not something you wanted to see at eleven in the AM - or ever - but the doorbell rang and there he was.
“Tit-for-tat, right?” He said as soon as you opened the door.
“Yeah,” You replied cautiously.
“La Familia Original know where your bestie is, were gonna go pick him up.” He informed you. “Wanna come?”
You leaned against the doorframe, arms folded. “Of course I do. What do you want in return?”
“I don’t know yet, but I’ll tell you when I do,” He said, smirking.
“Let me pack a bag.”
Twenty-three hours later, you were in Denver. Apparently, Jeremy was at a batting cage in town where he was waiting on a friend. He had been adamant about not telling you anything about this friend until you met him, insisting as soon as the two of you did meet that he was going to become the third wheel real quick. You stepped out of the car and rolled your back, flinching when it sounded like bubble wrap. As you approached the batting cages, your mind drifted to wonder briefly about what Kol was doing. Since his overnight stay at your house, the two of you had been getting along brilliantly - you might even go so far to say you were friends. You hadn’t seen him in person since he had visited you to tell you that he had to leave to do something to help protect his family, but he had called you every day. You hadn’t asked him where he was or what he was doing - the two of you were on opposite sides of a war and you understood that, so you weren’t going to betray his trust by asking for information like some sort of spy. You couldn’t help wonder what he was doing though, and you couldn’t ignore the dread building in the back of your mind as the likelihoods started to line up. You just hoped you were wrong.
“There he is.” Elena pointed, pulling you from your thoughts.
“Next time we compel him, remind me to make him better at baseball,” Damon grimaced, watching Jeremy swing and miss… over… and over. You hummed your agreement - no offense to your best friend, but he sucked. Elena huffed and moved over to the cage.
“Hey, Jer!” She called out. Jeremy turned around.
“Elena?” He asked, surprised but happy. His gaze turned you and you sent him a little wave. “Y/N?”
“Sup, Crackhead,” You grinned teasingly. He rolled his eyes and noticed Damon, then his face fell.
“What’s wrong?” He sighed.
“We’re here to bust you outta hillbilly hell!” You exclaimed, leaving out the threat on his life.
“I know you are, Y/N/N, but what’s he here for?” Jeremy narrowed his eyes at Damon and what should have been obvious dawned on you. They needed something from him. What a wonderful sister he had to only come and save him when it conveniences her. Jeremy stepped out of the cage to put his bat away and Damon followed.
“Kathren sired us, Rose sired Kathren, now all we gotta do is figure out who sired Rose,” He explained.
“So, you traveled across the country to get me to talk to a dead vampire?” Jeremy surmised.
“Yall realize the absolute astronomical degree to which you suck, right?” You added, feeling the need to be Jeremy’s annoyance translator. Damon glared at you.
“Dead vampire’s redundant, but yes.”
“Well, I can’t.” Jeremy shrugged. Damon and Elena shot him a questioning glance. “I could talk to Anna and Viki because I knew them.” He put his helmet away and turned back to face Damon and Elena and you who trailed behind them. “I’ve never even met Rose.”
“What good is you dying and coming back if you can’t talk to a ghost when I need you to?” Damon complained. Jeremy rolled his eyes and you again felt the need to translate.
“You are, without a doubt, the supreme absolute worst.”
Elena sighed. “Rose spent a lot of time running from Klaus as well, she and Damon were close so maybe we can use him as a connection,” She suggested.
“Like a long-distance call on an old-timey phone system.” You nodded, looking at Jeremy. “It could work.”
It was your friend’s turn to sigh. “Fine! Fine, but can we do this later? My friend just got here, and yes, Damon, I actually have some.”
Damon hummed. “Oh, so not just the desperate tag along then?” You reached up, pulled off your glove, and grabbed the back of his neck, burning him. He hissed and ducked out of your grasp.
Jeremy smirked but tried to hide it with an eye roll. “I’ll call you when I’m done.” He leaned over and gave Elena a kiss on the cheek. She turned with him.
“Jer-” Then she stopped, her eyes widening in fear. “Damon, it’s Kol!”
Your heart dropped and you felt a hand pushing you aside. You should have known better. The dark-haired boy stepped forward and swung a bat, smacking Damon in the face and knocking him to the ground. The bat snapped in two and he discarded the piece he was holding.
“What the hell are you doing?!” Jeremy cried out, stumbling away from the boy he thought he’d known. He hadn’t known him. You should have known better.
“Jeremy, get back. He’s an original!” Elena warned.
“What?”
“No hard feelings, mate,” Kol said. “But we’re not buds.” His gaze flicked over to you briefly, and an expression of guilt drifted over his features. Then it was gone and he picked up another bat, a metal one this time. “You know, I’ll never get used to aluminum. But hey, at least it won’t break.” Damon got to his knees just as Kol turned around to swing. The movement was too fast for you to see but, a moment later, Kol was on the ground with a really big sliver sticking out of his chest.
“D-did you kill him?” Jeremy stammered, glancing rapidly between the corpse and the vampire who put it there.
“No,” Damon groaned. “But it’ll give us a head start. Come on.” He pulled Elena with him and you followed, glancing down at Kol’s body. Damon swung around jabbing his finger in your direction. “Not you,” He said.
“What?” Jeremy demanded. “We’re not leaving her!”
“Yeah, we are.” Damon raised a brow at you. “Tit-for-tat, remember? Slow him down, I don’t care what it takes.” He smirked. “Go full psycho on the bastard.”
“He’ll kill her!” Jeremy argued. Your eyes drifted to Kol’s body again. He’d been here for almost a month, waiting to kill your best and only friend at any moment. You should have known better. Some revenge sounded pretty good, actually.
“Yeah, alright.” You knelt on the ground beside Kol’s corpse and swung your bag off your shoulder.
“Come on, Jer.” Elena tried to tug her brother along but he wouldn’t budge.
“No!”
You glanced up, giving Jeremy a reassuring look. “Go,” You said.
“He could hurt you, Y/N,” Jeremy insisted.
You smirked. “Oh, he won’t get the chance.”
You didn't pay the trio any further attention as you zipped open your bag, pulled out a syringe of vervain, and ripped the cap off with your teeth. Leaning over carefully, you plunged the needle into Kol's jugular and injected the liquid into his system. Then you grabbed him by the hands and dragged his body into the parking lot.
The batting cages had emptied suspiciously but you didn't worry about that. Instead, you worried about how you were going to manage to lift approximately two hundred pounds of original vampire into the trunk of the car you were about to steal. Halfway through the parking lot, you looked up, wiping your brow and searching for a car you would be able to shove a cadaver into. You spotted a low-riding sports car and turned back to Kol.
"Eat some roughage, will you?" You joked as you attempted to shove his corpse into the back seat. (Turns out the trunk was too small. Que that once scene from Tangled where Rapunzel tries to shove Flinn in her closet.)
Once that was taken care of, you hopped into the driver’s seat and hotwired the car - thanks Youtube. Whipping out the GPS on your phone, you found the nearest building you knew would be completely abandoned. Archuleta Elementary School was a quaint little building and closed for the weekend. You picked the lock on the front door and went back to the car for Kol. When you opened the door, the boy groaned and lifted his head just a tad. That wasn’t good. You clambered over him and cautiously placed a hand on the makeshift stake sticking out of his back. The wood was slick with blood and more of the substance had pooled on the seat but luckily you weren’t squeamish. Grasping the broken bat firmly, you steeled your nerves and twisted. Even unconscious, Kol cried out and the sound tugged at your heartstrings. Who was the bad guy now? You shook that thought away and pulled him out of the car.
Lugging him up the steps of the school was murder but eventually, after getting lost in the hallways three times, you yanked his sorry rear end into the gym. You noticed that you had left a trail of blood from his corpse behind you but didn’t bother to clean it up. So what if some kids stumbled across it? They’d be fine because you know… color theory! After finding a chair, you fished some duct tape out of your bag and secured Kol to the seat with it. Then, you pulled out your stun gun. Removing the battery just to be safe, you popped off the panels at the front and removed the barbs. What you were doing was cruel, but you couldn’t afford to take any chances. You insured the prongs were securely set in Kol's chest, then dragged the reel out so you could sit on the bleachers and reinsert the battery.
“Now, we wait,” You said to no one in particular as you watched the boy's chest rise and fall in weak, labored breaths.
Watching Kol was the real torture. You couldn't take your eyes off him and you couldn't ignore the guilt building in your chest. You worked your jaw and tried to focus on anything else. You'd never actually tortured anyone before but you hadn't thought it would be this difficult and you hadn't even started. You couldn't help but think it wouldn't be so hard if it weren't him you were going to hurt. Anybody else and you would feel a thing. Why was he any different?
You couldn’t ignore the guilt building in your chest. Watching Kol was torture. He had never seemed like the bad guy, but now he looked like the victim - your victim. You were about to torture him - intentionally cause him pain. And for what? For trying to ensure his survival and the survival of his family? Isn’t that what you would do? How could you condemn him? He looked so innocent while he was asleep.
What made Kol any different from you?
You spat out a curse, frustrated with the dead-end your thoughts were taking you. His eyes fluttered open.
“Good mornin’, Sunshine,” You greeted him.
Kol shifted and groaned feebly, it sounded more like a whimper, really. Then he lifted his head and the look in his eyes as he focused on you tore at everything you had ever felt. He whispered something but it was too soft for you to make it out.
“What?” You asked. He let out a shuddering cough and moaned again.
“Get it out of me,” He said a little louder. He coughed again. “Please?”
You had left the stake impaled through his chest, that was probably what he was referring to. He was in agony again, just like with the dagger. His face was pale - just like yours had been so many, many times - and the compassion that normally evaded you attacked your conviction with full force.
“I can’t,” You said, voice thin and taught as a hair.
“Please?” He was begging. How did this make you a good guy?
“You’ll hurt me if I take that out.”
“No, I won’t,” Kol shook his head weakly. The cough that escaped him this time sounded wet and sickly as if the wound was getting worse instead of healing. “You know I won’t.”
“I don’t know anything.” You sat up straighter - as if steeling your spine might keep him out of your head. Only for once, it wasn't your head that was the problem. There was something in your chest and it clenched painfully when you looked at him as if he had a hand wrapped around your heart.
Kol met your eyes.
“I’ll never hurt you.” His words shook you. He’d never said that before, he’d always been careful with the way he said things. He didn’t make commitments. With Kol, there was always a way out. But not this time. This time he wanted you to know that he was in no way the bad guy, not when it came to you. But could you trust him? “I promise I’ll never hurt you.”
There were tears in those warm, brown eyes. You'd made a god bleed and a devil weep.
Was he really the evil in the room?
You questioned each step as you took it, one foot in front of the other, closer and closer to the deadly vampire, keeping a firm grip on your stun gun. When you stood right in front of him, you could see just how pained he looked. It hurt.
"Take it out of me," He pleaded again.
"Do I just… rip it out?" You wondered. All you got was a hum in reply. You gripped the handle sticking out of his chest and counted down. "Alright, one… two…" You tore the bat from his chest and he screamed, pulling against the duct tape you had tied him down with. The degree of his pain was unexpected. You couldn't help but wince. Whatever it was about a vampire's healing factor that seemingly took the edge off of normally fatal wounds must have been rendered null by the same plant that sapped his strength. The tape strained but didn't break thanks to the vervain pumping through his system.
Kol took a deep shaking breath. "What happened to three?" He wondered, groaning.
"You lost your three privileges when you moved to Denver to use my best friend as a bargaining chip," You replied coolly.
Kol blinked and looked up. "Jeremy? Jeremy Gilbert is your best friend?" He asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, he is."
"Never would have seen that coming…" He said, wide-eyed.
"What's that supposed to mean?" You asked, tilting your head. Kol grimaced, seeming to regret his words.
"Well, you're just so intelligent and he's so…."
"He's so what?" You demanded,
"Not?" He eyed your stun gun. "What does that thing do exactly?"
You frowned. "This." Then you pulled the trigger. A choked gasp escaped his lips and Kol's body arched, as 20,000 volts flooded his nervous system for as long as you held the trigger. The boy's form writhed and convulsed with an agonized groan, his mouth frozen open in a silent scream.  When you released the button, he relaxed, chest heaving.
"That's not fun," He hissed through clenched teeth. You tried your best to ignore the hurt in his eyes - the way he twitched when you took a step closer.
"It's not supposed to be," You said. "This is a police issue stun gun capable of delivering 20,000 volts of electricity to your nervous system via nineteen pulses each second. Typical stun guns only allow one to shock their target for up to five seconds, but I have removed such safety features specifically for this purpose."
Kol's expression drew into one of dread, he shook his head. “How about we discuss this like civilized people?”
“This stun gun has two modes,” You continued.” The first is called Pulse mode, which you just experienced. Pulse mode causes neuromuscular incapacitation as the neural signals that control muscles become uncoordinated, forcing your muscles to contract at random. The second mode, Drive-Stun, utilizes pain to render a subject compliant.”
“I don’t like any of those words,” Kol said, biting his lip.
“You know what I don’t like? I don’t like being proved wrong!” You exclaimed. “I thought I could trust you!”
“You can trust me!” He insisted.
“Trust you to hurt my friends, you mean?” You challenged.
“Friends?” He scoffed. “That’s a nice word for people who leave you to die, isn’t it?”
“They didn’t-”
“How long’s it been since they scarpered off like rats? Have they even bothered to call you - make sure you’re alright?” He wondered. If your watch was correct - three hours was the answer he was fishing for. And he was right. They hadn’t. They hadn’t called, they hadn’t texted, they had done nothing. His eyes burrowed into yours, begging you to see what you’d known all along. “They don’t care about you.”
He was wrong. Jeremy cared about you. Jeremy had to care about you. No one else did.
You clenched your jaw.
"Shut up." You sent another 20,000 volts through him again. Kol groaned but he wasn't done.
"You know, I think they'd be relieved if I killed you?" He said, panting.
"Shut. Up." ZAP!
"I would never hurt you. But they don't know that. They wouldn't leave you with me if they knew - there would be no point."
"Stop it." ZAP!
"You know what they think, darling?" Kol wet his lips, shaking his head. His voice was so soft - so gentle. You didn't deserve that. "Sweetheart, I can tell you what they think," He offered.
"Stop talking." You shook your head, feeling the tears slip down your cheeks. Who else did you really have? "I don't wanna hear it. Just stop!" ZAP!
"They think you could snap at any moment. And it terrifies them."
Why was everyone always scared of you? What did you ever do? You had only ever tried to help.
"I said stop talking!" ZAP!
Half of you wanted to shock him until he passed out, but you had to release the trigger early because Kol threw his head back and screamed and it just sounded so damn familiar. You couldn't stand to hear it. The firm set of your lips dissolved, your hands shook, and your convictions wavered. Kol relaxed, panting. It wasn't pity in his eyes when he looked up at you. It was compassion - kinship.
"Darling, if I killed you, they wouldn't have to worry about you switching sides - about choosing the person who actually cares about you over them," The boy said.
You didn't pull the trigger that time.
"Y-you care? About me?" There were tears in your eyes. You hadn't cried in years.
"I would never hurt you," He repeated, breaths ragged, voice strained. "I would never allow you to be hurt. Can you say the same of them?" All you could do was shake your head. "You don't want to do this, Y/N, I can see it in your eyes. You are capable of so much and it terrifies them. See, you and I are the same that way. Don't let them manipulate you, darling."
His logic bested yours.
You had always carried a knife in your bag. You pulled it out now. Kol eyed the blade with a cautious gaze, but there was no reason to. You knelt beside the chair and cut the duct tape holding him down. Within a blink, you found yourself wrapped in Kol’s arms.
His lips attacked your skin. He spared a kiss to your throat, another on your cheek, and the last found the corner of your lips - harsh and needy and passionate though he couldn't enjoy you for long. The embrace was brief, as your clothes and skin burned him, but it was nice all the same.
“I don’t know where they’re going,” You said, rubbing your wrist. You’d been torturing him, yet here he stood, gazing at you as if you were the world.
“That’s alright,” Kol smirked. “I do.”
***
Five and a half hours later, you and Kol were still driving through rural Kansas. You were in control of the Aux and introducing the thousand-year-old to some of the best music to ever exist. Currently on that list was Whole Wide World by Cage the Elephant. You were staring out the window, but you could feel Kol’s gaze shift to you every now and then.
I’d go the whole wide world
I’d go the whole world just to find her
I’d go the whole wide world
I’d go the whole wide world to find out where they hide her
Then Kol turned the car off. He was still looking at you and you could feel your cheeks heating up. He’d stopped the car in front of a large house that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since it was built.
“So who is this lady?” You asked, avoiding what you actually wanted to ask entirely.
“Mary Porter was a pretty young maiden my family and I came across in the fourteen hundreds,” Kol answered. “My brothers and I all favored her, so did Rebekah now that I think about it…” He shook his head. “Anyway, Mary sired Rose and Klaus sired Mary. But if Elena and her posey know that they’re likely to murder me and the rest of my family and try to dump Nik in the ocean or something. So if we kill Mary, they’ll never know who they can murder.”
“Yet you trust me enough for me to know?” You left the statement as a question, asking many things at once.
“I hope I do something truly awful for you to run back to the people who would rather have you dead,” Kol said. “So, yes. I trust you.”
It was now or never.
“Back at the school, you uh… you said… You said you cared about me.” You had a difficult time forcing the words out. “Did you mean it?”
“I did… and I do.” He nodded, with the slightest smile. “I don’t know if it’s love - to be honest, I don’t know what love feels like… but I’d certainly like to find out.”
You smiled. “Me too.” Kol grinned and opened his door, snatching the broken baseball bat Damon had impaled him on from the backseat.
“I’m gonna go kill someone,” He announced, jabbing his thumb at the house. “I’ll come get you when I’m done.”
“Have fun!” You called out. He just laughed and jogged to the house. You messed around on your phone while you waited for him to come back. A few minutes later, you heard a tap on your window and grinned. The second you stepped out of the car, Kol’s lips were on yours. He kept his hands off you, not wanting to get burned, but maybe that was the moment you weren’t a good girl anymore. That was probably the moment you switched sides for good.
“Do you have to be so dramatic about it?” You asked, rolling your eyes as Kol turned off the lights to lay in wait for Damon and Elena to find Mary’s body which he’d tacked to the wall with the same broken baseball bat Damon had used to run him through with.
“Dramatic is fun,” Kol scolded playfully, planting another kiss on your lips before taking a seat. He’d kept the aluminum baseball bat and planned to beat the tar out of Damon with it - a plan you endorsed wholeheartedly.
“Can't argue with that!” You flopped onto what had previously been Mary’s bed and continued playing around on your phone. The front door of the house opened with a loud squeal and you smirked. A few minutes later, Damon and Elena entered the room, shining a flashlight on Mary Porter’s body.
“Mary,” Damon sighed.
“Quite contrary,” Kol finished, flicking on the lights.
“Drama queen,” You muttered, Kol flashed you a grin and got up. Elena stumbled away from him, eyes on you.
“Y/N?” She looked surprised… and disappointed. Kol had been right.
“Hey there, Elena.” You smirked but there was nothing happy about your expression. “Bet you didn’t think you’d be seeing me again.”
And she had the audacity to act confused. “W-what do you mean?”
“You left me to die!” You accused, bolting up. Damon tried putting a hand on your shoulder but you shook it off.
“Come on, Y/N. We knew you could protect yourself,” He scoffed.
“But you didn’t expect me to. You wanted this guy to kill me!” You said, fully intending to deck one or both of them.
“I didn’t, though!” The original pipped up. “You’re welcome!”
“That’s ridiculous!” Elena said.
“I’ll admit it was clever,” You spat. “Use me to slow him down a bit and then use him to kill me and rid yourselves of one more problem.”
“I would never-” You cut her off.
“You’ve wanted me out of Jeremy’s life since the first grade, Elena Gilbert!” You shouted. “Kol just gave you an excuse to get rid of me. An excuse Jeremy wouldn’t question.”
She shook her head. “Did you help him do this?” She demanded, gesturing to Mary’s corpse.
“Why don’t you ask him?” You retorted, glaring with all your hatred of that girl. Elena looked at Kol and he just shrugged.
“Shame about Mary, she used to be a blast. I don’t quite know what happened!” He said, grinning cheekily and moving to stand in front of the cadaver.
“You stabbed her,” You chimed.
“Ah, yes, that’s right!” He chuckled pretending to remember. “You know, I fear all the time she spent with my family might have ruined her… She was a bit of an original groupie.”
You shot him a look. “How do you even know that word?”
“You say that as if I’m some naughty child, darling!” He grinned.
“Aren’t you?”
“Alright, maybe a little.”
Then Elena was talking again. “Were you her favorite?”
“You mean did I turn her?” Kol pretended to think. “I think I did… But no, wait! Maybe it was Rebekah… There was also a Klaus period and let's not forget the Elijah affair.” His smile dropped. “I spoke to my brother, I know you’re trying to figure out who you’re descended from… Well, now you never will.”
“Too bad Elena! Looks like you can’t massacre hundreds of thousands of vampires now!” You mocked, grinning like a madwoman.
“You’re on their side now?” She gasped.
"I thought that was a little obvious, but yeah," You sneered. "Maybe this'll teach you to treat your allies better."
"I doubt it." Kol smirked and wrapped an arm around your shoulder leaning down to kiss you again - deeply, passionately - just to rub it in Elena's face.
"That's just vile." Damon grimaced. Kol broke away from devouring your lips to flash a smile that was all teeth.
"Isn't it just?" He taunted. “So! Where did we leave off?” He tapped the bat against his knee and without warning, swung, taking out Damon’s knee. Damon fell on his hands but Kol swung again and broke his arms as well.
“Elena, get out of here!” Damon cried out, quite pathetically you might add, from his position on the floor. Elena tried to run but Kol dashed in front of her.
“According to my brother, you’re off-limits,” He said, sounding rather bored with that fact. “Please don’t test me.” Then he shoved her back and you caught the girl in a headlock.
“Guess I just snapped, didn’t I?” You growled. Damon shot up and grabbed Kol by the neck.
“Don’t touch her,” He spat. Kol pouted and threw his head forward with enough force to send Damon stumbling back.
“Oh dear, love,” He laughed, glancing at you. “I think we’ve hit a nerve!”
“Good! Hit it some more!” You called back, tightening your grip on Elena’s throat. Kol smirked and turned back to Damon.
“Relax, darling! I just want us to be even. You snapped my neck, you killed my brother… and then you humiliated me.” You forced Elena to watch as Kol brought the baseball bat down on Damon’s back. Once…Twice…Three times. “There, now we’re even.” He held a hand out to you and, releasing Elena so she could run to her not-boyfriend, you took a hold of his sleeve. That was the moment you changed. You were done being used. Pausing for a moment, you turned back as you left the room.
“I warned you what would happen, Damon, if you ever tried to use me again. Too bad you didn’t listen, eh?”
Your journey continues here...
Hope Mikaelson x Male Reader
Request - Could u do a hope mikaelson X male reader where the reader is caroline and Alaric's older son and the twins' big bro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You just had a heavy make-out session with your girlfriend Hope. But the relationship is a secret and your sisters don't know about it. You made it out of Hope’s room and try to act as nothing happened.
“Y/n, where have you been?” Josie asked.
“Oh hey,” You said.
“Y/n, why do you have lipstick on your lips?” Josie asked.
“Woah, why are you asking so many questions? Are you a cop?” You said.
“Stop joking around. Y/n why do you have lipstick on your lips?” Josie asked.
You try to come up with a lie but Josie can see you're about to lie. You are the big brother of Lizzie and Josie. You are a warlock and the strongest one on campus. You are protective of your sisters, but they don't know you have a girlfriend. You and Hope agreed to keep the relationship a secret for a while.
“I wanted to try on lipstick. I was curious...” You said.
“I don't believe you, Y/n. Dad is mad that you have been skipping your classes” Josie said.
“He is never here,” You said.
“Dad has been busy. He will be coming back later” Josie said.
“Okay,” You said.
“Let’s go to class,” Josie said.
She grabbed your hand and dragged you to class. You have a class with Josie and Lizzie and you always sit behind them. You and the rest of the class are learning magic strategies. Josie did tell Lizzie about the lipstick on your lips. Lizzie is now curious why you have lipstick on your lips.
Lizzie turned around
“Y/n, I know you have a girlfriend and I will figure out who it is” Lizzie Said.
“Whatever, Lizzie,” You said.
She glared at you and you stick out your tongue at her.
“Lizzie and Y/n stop talking,” the teacher said.
“Sorry,” You and Lizzie Said in sync.
---
You don't have any more classes to go to, instead, you are with Hope in your bedroom.
“Do you think they will find out?” Hope asked.
“I don't think so, but I know they will keep digging until they find something. Maybe we should tell them?” You Said.
“You don't like sneaking around?” Hope asked.
Hope is worried that your family won't support the relationship.
“I do but after a while what's the point? I want them to know, you're my girlfriend and I'm not ashamed of you” You said.
“Let’s talk about something else,” Hope said.
“Okay” You sighed.
You and Hope continued to keep making out. While Lizzie and Josie are trying to come up with a plan to find out if you have a girlfriend.
---
Fighting Malivore has been getting harder. Everyone is running out of ideas about how to stop him. But Lizzie and Josie haven't stopped spying on you. You haven't noticed they have been following you.
Josie does use her spell to invisible, she caught you and Hope making out in the library. But she hasn't told Lizzie just yet, she is still in shock.
Days later...
Lately, Hope has been thinking about the relationship. She cares for you so much and she is madly in love with you, but she hasn't said those words just yet.
“Hey babe, sorry I forgot your birthday. But I will make it up to you” You said.
“I want to break up with you,” Hope said.
What she said stung your heart and you're speechless.
“What? Why do you want to break up with me?” You asked.
“It’s not working out, y/n” Hope lied.
“Hope, tell me the truth why you are breaking up with me,” You said.
“I don't owe you an explanation, y/n,” Hope said.
Hope walked away and you couldn't hold your tears back. Hope’s eyes get watery and she tries to hold them back.
You lock yourself in your bedroom, Josie and Lizzie walked into your room, and they see you crying. They sit by your side
“Y/n, what's wrong?” Lizzie asked.
“Hope dumped me,” You said.
“Oh,” Josie said.
They hug you tight. You tell them how you and Hope started to date, then they told you they were spying on you. But you are not mad at them.
---
Days passed since Hope broke up with you. You continue to practice your magic skills with your sisters. You haven't spoken to Hope and you still feel hurt. Hope does ignore you but she misses you a lot. After your training, you locked yourself in your room. Your dad walked in
“Y/n are you doing okay?” Alaric asked.
“I don't want to talk about it,” You said.
“It’s not good to hold it in. When you want to talk about it, I will be here for you and so will your mom” Alaric said.
“Thanks,” You said.
Lizzie and Josie went to speak with Hope.
“Why did you have to hurt him!?” Lizzie yelled.
“What?” Hope asked.
“You broke Y/n’s heart. Why?” Josie asked.
“It’s none of your business” Hope said.
“It's our business. He is our big brother and we will protect him no matter what. Why did you do it?” Lizzie said.
“I want to protect him-”
“Cut the crap. This whole thing, breaking up to protect someone is stupid. You could have come up with a plan with him. Geez, you two are stubborn” Josie said.
“It's true” Lizzie said
✯ ✬ ✯ ✬
Malivore unexpectedly showed up and he started to attack the school with his minions. You and the others are trying to stop Malivore. You are using your magic to block attacks on your sisters and Hope.
“Lizzie, try to get the kids out of here and take them somewhere safe,” You said.
“What about you?” Lizzie asked.
“Don’t worry about me. Josie and I got a plan to slow him down” You said.
“Do it fast” Lizzie said.
“I will,” You said.
You use your magic to protect Lizzie from Malivore.
“Just give up, we all know how it will turn out,” Malivore said.
“What, you can see the future?” Hope asked.
“Something like that. You are getting on my last nerves” Malivore said.
You and Josie combined magic to stop him. The attack semi-worked but Malivore isn't dead yet.
He used magic to attack you and Josie. Hope tries to use her magic to attack but he was going to stab her. You pushed Hope out of the way, Malivore’s dagger goes through your chest.
“Y/n!!!” Hope yelled.
Josie runs to your side and she tries to stop the bleeding. She starts to cry
“Y/n, don't close your eyes. We need you” Josie cried.
“It hurts,” You said.
“Try to stay awake, mom and dad will know what to do. You can't leave us” Josie cried.
Lizzie comes out and she sees what is going on. She runs to your side and she starts to cry.
“Josie, use your magic to heal him,” Lizzie said.
Josie tries to use her magic to heal you but it didn't work. You stopped breathing
“Y/n?” Lizzie said.
Lizzie starts to shake you.
“Lizzie, he is gone” Josie cried.
“No! He isn't gone!” Lizzie yelled.
---
The next day, everyone went to your funeral. Hope blames herself and Josie too, Josie thinks if she tried harder to save you then you would be alive. After the funeral, Josie and Lizzie can hear Alaric and Caroline arguing and blaming each other for your death.
“Stop arguing, it won't bring y/n back,” Lizzie said.
“Sorry. You are right us arguing won't bring him back” Alaric said.
“We will be okay. We just need time to grieve” Caroline said.
“Whatever” Lizzie said and walked away.
Lizzie went to look for Josie and Hope is crying alone.
✯ ✬ ✯ ✬
You wake up and you're breathing hard. You are in your coffin and you are starting to freak out. You scream for help but no one can hear you, due to the thunderstorms. You start to break the coffin with your bare hands. It took a while but you struggled to get out of the coffin and the ground. You are breathing extremely hard and you lie on the grass. You start to smile and you sat up, start to look around.
Caroline is spending time with her daughters. MG and Kaleb are checking up on Hope. Hope hasn't opened up to anyone not even to Lizzie and Josie. Kaleb and MG are trying hard to tell Hope it's not her fault.
You are covered in mud and you walk through the school.
“Y/n?” Hope said.
MG ran to get Lizzie and Josie.
“He is a zombie!” Pedro yelled
“I’m not a zombie,” You said.
“Prove it,” Kaleb said
“Dude, I'm covered in mud, and my eyes at still the same,” You said.
“It’s really you,” Hope said
You nod. Lizzie and Josie are happy to see you, your mom hugged you. Lizzie and Josie did hug you and they are happy to see you.
“But how are you alive?” Josie asked.
“I don't know,” You said.
“I can explain. It happened to someone I used to know. His vampire genes kicked in, it took days for his body to heal. Now he must be starving and craving for blood” Caroline said.
“Yeah, I am craving for blood. But first” You said.
You walked towards Hope and kisses her in front of everyone.
“Sorry for the mud” You smiled.
You clean her lips
“I forgive you about the mud,” Hope said.
---
Your mom has been teaching you how to be a vampire. She gave you a daylight ring and you put it on.
“Thanks. The ring looks so cool” You said.
“Never take off the ring no matter what. So tell me about, Hope” Caroline said.
“She is amazing and I care about her a lot. She is beautiful, smart, and a badass. Are you okay with the relationship?” You said.
“I got to know her a little bit. She does seem like a nice girl and she is strong. She makes you happy then I'm okay with the relationship. Y/n I want you to be happy” Caroline said.
She hugged you and you smiled at her. Later, you went to see Hope and she is happy to see you. You and Hope are officially back together. You and Hope are at the lake, just having fun together. You're happy that you don't have to hide the relationship.
Tumblr media
she will be loved masterlist
“Hello?  Hayley?”
Hayley was quiet on the opposite line, a frown deep in her soft features.  What was he doing, calling her?
Klaus cleared his throat, but she stayed quiet.
“I was hoping you would know of someone who could help us.  We need a witch.  One that deals with visions.”
Hayley closed her eyes, sighing softly.  “Why?”
Klaus blinked slowly, his jaw clenching in frustration.
“Klaus, I’m not going to help you unless you give me a reason.”
“I shouldn’t have to give you a reason,” he sneered, anger slithering up his spine as if a snake had replaced what nerves he had left.
“Alright, then,” Hayley rolled her eyes.  “Have fun finding a witch.”
Hayley pulled the phone away from her ear, prepared to hang up when she heard Klaus yell her name through the receiver.
“Wait,” he said, his voice constrained for the time being.  “There is… a problem we’ve been having.  A child,” he said.
Hayley stayed quiet, her hand hovering over her own stomach.
“She’s been having visions.  Prophetic visions.  We… are hoping to find someone who can help her.”
Hayley cleared her throat, pursing her lips soon after.  “Okay,” she said.  “You’re still in Mystic Falls, right?  I’ll… see what I can do.”
“Come too,” Klaus said.  “We do not need a witch on our grounds when we’ve no idea who they are.”
“I’ll be there,” she said, before hanging up the phone.  She knew exactly who to call.
Time went by slower that week than it had in some time.  The witch Elijah had called had no idea how to help little [Your name].  She left almost as soon as she had arrived, claiming that some other forces were in control of the child.
Elijah was tempted to find her and rip her a new one—how dare she give up when she hadn’t even begun to help?
It was on a night that Elijah had just laid [Your name] to sleep when a knock came from the front door.  No one else had been home.  Klaus and Kol were out at the Grill, and Rebekah was at the high school with the prom committee.  It was just him and his little girl.  He sighed softly and left his daughter’s room, promptly answering the front door.
“Hello?” he greeted as he opened it, his eyes growing wide at the sight of a pregnant Hayley Marshall.  Beside of her stood a fiery redhead, who he could only assume was a witch—he could practically smell the magic drifting off of her.
Elijah looked down at her belly before looking back up at Hayley in shock.  “Hayley…”
The brunette gave him a soft smile.  “Hi, Elijah.  Is Klaus here?  He was asking for a witch.  I brought him one.  I need to talk to him, too.”
“No,” Elijah frowned.  “But, I’m sure he’ll be back soon.  Who are you?” he turned to look at the redhead.
She smiled, revealing a set of almost perfect teeth.  “Penelope.”
“And what are you here for?” Elijah raised an eyebrow.
“Uh,” Penelope looked over at Hayley for help.
“Again,” Hayley rolled her eyes.  “Klaus asked for my help.  I brought him a witch that knows about visions and stuff like that.”
Elijah’s eyes widened.  “Oh,” he breathlessly said, looking between Hayley and Penelope.  A part of him wondered if he should wait for his siblings to return… but he knew that whatever he could do for his daughter would be beneficial in the long run.
“Come in,” Elijah said, moving out of the doorway.
Hayley and Penelope came inside.  The former kept a hand over her belly while the latter looked around the house in utter amazement.
“This is gonna sound stupid, but I don’t think I’ve ever been in a place this big,” Penelope whisper-yelled to the woman standing beside her.
Hayley rolled her eyes, but it was a playful gesture.  She just smiled at her friend.
“So,” Penelope soon said, turning to face Elijah.  “What can I do to help?”
Elijah led the women up to his daughter’s bedroom.  However, he did not go inside, opting to instead explain what was going on, first.
“I adopted her about… well, nearly a year and a half now,” he said.  “She has always been susceptible to dreams of all sorts.  Lands filled with candies, snow during the summer, her favorite characters becoming her friends.  But she has also had… visions.  What we now know to be precognition,” Elijah frowned, crossing his arms over his chest as he spoke.
Penelope clung to his every word.
“She is terrified.  She has seen my brother die.  She witnessed a girl with something that my brother and sister have been searching everywhere for.  [Your name] has never once heard them talking about it.”
Penelope tilted her head.  “What is it you are wanting me to do?” she asked.
“Can you get rid of it?  Take her power away?  Allow her to be a normal child, with normal dreams?” Elijah asked, staring her down.
Penelope looked from Elijah to Hayley, frowning.  “I’m not sure.  But I will see what I can do,” Penelope said, patting the satchel at her side.  “My mother’s grimoire has a lot of info about visions,” she said.  “I’m sure I’ll be able to do something to help.”
Elijah gave a small not, uncertainty getting the best of him.  Would she be able to help?  What if there was nothing they could do for his little girl?
The original vampire would have led them somewhere else, a guest room perhaps, had it not been for the little girl now standing at her opened door.
“Daddy?” [Your name] quickly spoke, tears springing in her big eyes.
Elijah wasn’t human, but his non-beating heart sprung to his throat in an instant.  He bent down to her height and held out his arms to the child.  [Your name] ran to them, hugging onto the man.
“What’s the matter?” Elijah softly asked, pressing a kiss to her temple.
“I had another dream,” she said, trembling in his arms.
“About what, my love?”
“I don’t know,” she let out a soft sob, roughly wiping her eyes to try and stop her tears.
Elijah quickly grabbed her hands, stopping her.  He couldn’t bear the thought of her getting hurt by her own hands.
“[Your name], look at me,” he frowned.  “You’re alright.  You are safe,” he said.  “Nothing can get to you here.  I will always protect you.”
“Always?” she looked up at him with wide eyes.  Her bottom lip quivered as she spoke.
“Always,” he nodded.
She sniffled softly, looking at his hands that were now holding hers.  [Your name] took in a deep breath, her eyes soon wandering up to his.  “I saw you, daddy,” she said.
Elijah frowned.  “What did you see?”
“I saw you…”
He furrowed his brows, confused.
“You were dead, daddy.”
can i request bonnie x reader x freya where the reader is a forbes and caroline finds out about the relationship ( if your uncomfortable writing poly you can just do freya or bonnie x forbes reader )
Damn it, Caroline
A/N: Thank you for your request @freyamikaelsonlover !! Sorry for posting it just now, hope you like it!
Pairing: Bonnie X Freya X Reader
Tumblr media
„Oh, you’re looking good there!“
You stopped dead in your movement, hands just above the door knob on the way out.
„What’s the occasion?“ You heard her call again.
Damn it, Caroline.
You repressed a sight, already quite Familie with her usual interrogations of your whereabouts. „I’m going out.“ you said, still not turning around.
You heard her snort at that, a little annoyed already. „Yeah, I’ve figured as much. But with WHOM?“
Caroline and her damn questions.
„With… with my girlfriend.“
I mean it WAS the truth, just not the way your sister thought.
„You Don’t have to say girlfriend like it’s a big secret. I thought It was clear I’m fine you’re dating Bonnie. My best friend Bonnie.“
You rolled your eyes, a little desperately. And here it goes…
„The Bonnie I know since basically forever. I’m totally cool with that. The Bonnie, who I happen to-“
„Yes! Thank you!“ you finally turned around, facing your sister. „I get it. You feel excluded. And I promise you can come along… next time.“
The gleam in her eyes vanished just as fast. „Oh common now! That’s SO rude. And unfair!“
Before she could get herself even more into it you took the opportunity and slipped quickly through the door.
„Sorry, Care, but I’m running late-“
When the door closed behind you, you hurried to get away as fast away as possible, not even looking back.
Still you arrived at the park later than agreed on, but when you looked around the poorly crowded park area Neither of your dates seemed to be here yet.
„Hey there, cutie.“
The sudden whisper near your ear sent hot goosebumps down your spine.
But you relaxed immediately when you where suddenly staring into the eyes of Freya Mikaelson, her arm already finding the usual place around your waist.
„Where you hiding?“ you asked her with a small grin on your lips.
„I’m an original,“ Freya winked sheepishly. „I’ve got enemies everywhere.“
„Indeed, Caroline was holding me up a bit, sorry. But I thought Bonnie would already be here with you?“
To that the blonde Vampire took a step closer to you, „Well, I’m that case-“ Her eyes flickered to your lips. „Seems like we got some time to kill.“
Softly you placed a hand on her cheek, tiptoeing a bit to get closer to her face.
And just as you were about to close your eyes she suddenly vanished.
Stumbling to regain your balance you looked up only to see-
„Caroline?!“
With A murderous look on her face, she Geld Freyas throat, pressing her against a tree.
But your girlfriend was remaining calm, she was even smirking amused at the situation.
She knew Caroline didn’t even stand a chance against her.
„What the HELL do you think You’re doing with my sister?!“
And even though you knew that as well, it didn’t stop your anger.
„Caroline! Let her go, it’s not what-“
Caroline looked at you and the raging gaze on her face made you take a step back.
„And you! How could you even do THAT to Bonnie! What were you thinking? Now I get WHY you were so hesitant about where you were going to!“
„Care, please calm down.“
To your surprise you find Bonnie next to you, you hadn’t noticed that Caroline didn’t come alone.
She gave you a short glance, a little worried for how the situation had turned out.
Softly, you intertwined your fingers with hers to calm her down but also to make something plain.
Much to Caroline‘s confusion. She frowned, but still didn’t lighten her grip on Freya.
„Why are you not angry Bonnie?! She literally cheated on you with- with this-“
„Because I knew.“ Bonnie answered calmly.
„And she didn’t ‘cheat‘.“
You nodded in affirmation.
„We’re together. Like, all three of us.“
Something inside Caroline’s mind clicked and her gaze softened. „Oh… this is a poly-relationship?“
„Yes.“ Freya answered, not even bothering to hide her annoyance anymore.
„Now if you’d be so kind to let go of me? I would hate to break your wrist.“
Caroline did, without even glancing at her.
Instead something like embarrassment appeared on her face. „Well… sorry, guys.“
Freya walked over to Bonnie and you, crossing her arms. „How about you make it up by inviting us to this infamous Mystic Grill?“
Bonnie chuckled. „What an wonderful idea, love. After all this struggle.“
Carolien held her arms up in Defense, clearly seeing her mistake, even though it was quite sweet how she defended Bonnie. „Alright, alright that’a fair.“
You shared an amused glance with both of your girlfriends. Seems like the struggle was worth it, for now a free night with all your favorite girls laid ahead of you.
You'll See When We Get There
Tumblr media
Older Mikaelson sister reader x Hope Mikaelson
Summary: You take your little sister to the American Girl store in Houston.
Warnings: None
A/n: I've loved American Girl since I was a child and I really wanted to write this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ever since you introduced Hope to American Girl dolls, she's loved them. You got her one for Christmas four years ago, one of the truly me ones that looks like her. And the nine-year-old is attached to it, to say the least. She takes the doll basically everywhere and plays with her with all the doll things she's gotten over the years. She also convinces you to play with her, and you love it and how her face lights up with excitement every time you agree.
She's also gotten Uncle Kol and Aunt Rebekah to play with her sometimes. And once actually got Uncle Elijah to play with her as well after a lot of begging him and you helping her until he complied.
You got her the one for Christmas because of how she loves your own Felicity doll that you got in the 90s when she came out. That's what you play with, her and your dolls together.
Hayley always smiles as she watches you and Hope play, knowing you don't have to, but you do.
It's got you thinking about how, even though she loves the dolls, she's never been to an American Girl store before. So that's how you came up with your plan to surprise your little sister.
You talked to Hayley and your dad about it, taking Hope on a road trip to Houston, Texas, and surprising her with going to the AG store. It's the closest store to you guys, so you wanted it to be a big surprise and everything. They agreed quickly, knowing Hope had been talking about wanting to go to the store for a long time.
"Hey, Hope" You smile, walking into her bedroom after setting down a bag in the doorway. She's sitting on the floor, her doll sitting in a chair, and doll food is set up on the purple table. A miniature fork in her hand, pretending to feed her.
"Hi!" She grins. You walk over and crouch down next to her. "I have a surprise for you," You tell her. "But, first you need to pack a bag."
"Why?" She asks, clearly excited about the surprise.
"We're going on a road trip, just you and me. And when we get there, you'll see the surprise" You run your hand through her hair before standing up. She follows and starts packing a bag with you.
Once you guys are finished, you zip up the yellow bag and swing it over your shoulder, picking up your own bag as well. She looks back across the room.
"Can I bring my doll?" She asks, not wanting to leave her here all alone. She knows that Mommy and Daddy will be here, and some of her aunts and uncles, but still.
"Of course you can" You nod over for her to grab her. The doll is wearing a lilac dress, with matching shoes and bandana. She lifts the doll into her arms and follows you down the stairs, into the living room.
"You guys are heading out?" Hayley asks. "Yeah, I want us to get there before dark" You answer her.
"Do you know where we're going, Mommy?" Hope looks up at Hayley.
"Sorry, baby, I can't say, it's a surprise" She kisses the nine-year-old's forehead. "Okay," She sighs dramatically, making you chuckle.
"Bye Mommy, bye Daddy" She hugs them before you guys walk out to your car. You put your guys' two bags in the trunk. There's also another bag with snacks and juice boxes you already put in the front seat beforehand.
She climbs into her booster seat and buckles herself up as you start the car.
During the almost six-hour drive to the hotel, you and Hope munched on snacks and listened to Disney music.
Once you got there, it was almost seven and you were both tired and hungry. You parked the car in the hotel parking lot.
"Okay, we're going to check in, and put our bags in the room, then we can go get dinner" You turn to look at Hope.
"Okay. Can we get pizza?" She asks. "You read my mind" you chuckle, making her smile brighten.
You guys walk down the street to a pizza factory after dropping the bags and Hope's doll in the room. She didn't want to get it dirty, so it was easy to persuade her to not bring it for once. But you didn't feel as bad since you know she'll be really happy when tomorrow comes.
"Pepperoni?" You ask her as you guys stand in line. "Mhm!" She nods in agreement. When you guys get to the front, you order a small pepperoni pizza. You take the number card for the table and sit at a booth. Your sister sitting across from you.
"Where are we?" She asks, remembering you never told her exactly where you guys are.
"We're in Texas right now, more specifically, Houston" You answer her.
"Why?" She tilts her head. "It's part of the surprise. You'll see tomorrow." You ruffle her hair.
"Where are we goin?" Hope asks. She's kneeling on the made bed facing where you're putting on your leather jacket. "Well, you'll just have to see for yourself. Let's go, shall we?"
Hope lifts her arms up for you. You walk over, lifting her up into your arms. She wraps her legs around your waist and her arms around your neck. You place a kiss on her forehead before setting her back down on the ground.
"Why don't you grab your doll and then we can go," you tell her. "Okay!" Hope exclaims, excited about getting to bring her doll along. Her feet patter against the carpeted floor and grabbed her doll from the chair that she turned into the doll's bed last night.
She comes back over to you, taking hold of your outstretched hand. You make sure the hotel door is locked before walking down to the parking lot.
You guys had the hotel breakfast earlier in the morning, pancakes, fruit, and hashbrowns.
All throughout the drive, you take notice of the excitement on Hope's face as she clutches her doll close as she looks out the window.
"Okay, we're here" You park the car, getting out of the car. Hope follows you, jumping out of her booster seat, doll clutched in her arms.
Hope holds your left hand as you lead her through the mall. She pauses, her face brightening the moment she sees it. The American Girl store. You guys are standing four feet away from the entrance, beside a display of the 90's twins.
"Well, what are you waiting for, let's head on in" You tell her ruffling her hair with your other hand.
Not wasting another second, she pulls you into the store quickly, heading right over to the display case of all the historical dolls.
As she's looking at all of them, she tilts her head and looks up at you. "Why is Felicity not here?" She points up to all the dolls. "Oh, well they retired her a while ago. Meaning they no longer sell her anymore" You explain. "Oh, that's sad," Hope says.
"Yeah, it is a bit" You squeeze her hand before she ultimately gets distracted by everything again.
Let's just say you spent a lot of money, definitely spoiling your baby sister, but who can blame you? In your defense, you've been planning this and it's not like you were setting a budget anyways. You can never tell if that's a good or bad thing.
You and Hope walk into the house, a bunch of American Girl bags full. You guys had just gotten back from another five hours on the road.
Hayley and Klaus walk into the room, their eyes immediately going to the excessive amount of red shopping bags. "Well, I see you guys had fun," Hayley says.
Hope runs over to her, "Mommy!" Hayley holds her daughter close before pulling away. "Y/n/n took us to the American Girl store and we had so much fun and there were so much things" Hope explained, energy pumping through her veins after sleeping for the last s and a half hours in the car.
As Hope continues to animatedly tell Hayley about the trip, Klaus walks over to you, hugging you.
"Do I even want to know how much money you spent?" He asks. "I wouldn't recommend it," You tell him, faux wincing.
"I have to say, you learnt well from Rebekah" Klaus shakes his head chuckling. "Well, she is the best on the subject of shopping" You lean into your father. He wraps his arm around you as you guys watch Hope open the new doll, Addy, and take her out of the box.

Can I request tvd characters reacting to the reader being egirl? Like the reader is their friend and she is and e girl, and i think for the vampires this style is very odd. Also could it be a female reader?
characters - stefan, damon, klaus, elijah, rebekah, kai, and katherine x fem!reader
includes - language, nsfw themes. me really badly describing e girl fashion 😭. some of these i imagined as the readers relationship w them being platonic or romantic, ill let yall know the difference
————
stefan salvatore - platonic
okay i love stefan but tbh i don’t think he’d like your style….
AT FIRST.
it’s just different, you know?
and like i said, i love stefan but he’s a little bit basic 🌝
it just took some time for him to get used to
he isn’t used to seeing a someone with split-dyed hair, lots of eyeliner, drawn-on hearts with eyeliner, dark and layered clothes
but soon he grows to love your style and you!
you two are literally THE best friends
damon salvatore - romantic
lets be honest here
damon LOVES it
ofc in the beginning he would tease you bc you would always be dyeing your hair, wearing chokers that could puncture somebody if they got close enough to you, and long earrings that reached the floor
lol no but seriously, he always was attracted to you
he adores your style
obviously its a lot different from the other girls (quirky 🤪🤪🤪) but he likes the difference
you also look like someone who could kick ass and who is pessimistic and sarcastic and funny, and honestly, that’s his dream girl
you two definitely wear matching outfits
OMG AHH
i can imagine it now
cute couple fits!!!
he even lets you paint his nails
you find it so hot you two def stayed up all night 😏😏😏
and he loves loves loves showing you off at the mall, knowing that everyone is jealous and wants a piece of both of you
you two ALSO jam out to music in his car
you two def always get matching tattoos
he lets you do his eyeliner too!
damon with eyeliner…..
puts the dam in damon
klaus mikealson - platonic
i think klaus wouldn’t like it much either at first
but he quickly warms up to you
of course, hes just so used to seeing girls in big, period dresses or jeans and a nice blouse
but he quickly falls in love with your style
and honesty, he kinda wants your style too
i imagine him always asking you what to wear when he goes to mystic falls so he can impress caroline
i feel like he would see you as his little sister and so when you wear tight clothing and lots of make up hes like 👹👹👹👹👹
but he of course supports you no matter what
i don’t really have much to say about klaus 😭
elijah mikealson - romantic
elijah on the other hand…
your style and whole personality just intrigues him so much
like with being alive for so long, he’s def like seen literally every single different style
but this… you were new
and he was very very interested
and intimated
like he didnt realise one could be so alluring in dark clothes, chains, and different colored lipstick
he befriended you at first and you also found him very attractive
he was very charming and so different from literally everyone, he also intrigued you
its not really a question as to whether you two were the most hottest, but also surprising couple to step out
when you two walked together, elijah in his suits and combed back hair and you in your different colored hair, tattoos, and fishnet stockings
you both were quite a pair
and elijah really really loves your style and the bold, confident attitude you bring towards the table
youre not afraid to wear what you like, youre not afraid to say what you want to say, and you look fine as hell doin so
elijah even lets you dress him up one day and you had so much fun hehe
he looked like 10 years younger w his hair messy and the necklaces and the painted nails hehe
bottom line is, elijah fully supports and loves your style. its really his favourite part of you :)
rebekah mikaelson - platonic
rebekah looooves your style as well
your style is one of the reasons why she was like "yes. we have to be best friends."
she has a flair for the dramatic and she loves fashion, so of course she would love your style
unlike klaus, she has seen and even dabbled in the e-girl style
i feel like what she wore was more on the goth but like, whatever
you two definitely do your makeup for each other and pick each other's outfits
borrowing clothes does become an every day thing
you two are literally conjoined to the hip
you introduce her to music that she's never heard of (even in her 1,000 years of being alive)
you get her to wear fishnets socking, cool different coloured eyeliner, and cool hairstyles
you two are the baddest bitches in mystic falls and new orleans
kai parker - romantic
kai is all over you from the start
doesn't help the fact that he hasn't had a girlfriend in like, 20 years lolllll
but anyways, you just attract him so much
from your makeup, to your clothes, to your laugh, to your caring and strong persona, you got him wrapped around your finger 😉
he loves going shopping with you and seeing all the cute outfits you make up
he also lets you do his makeup. he is very in with the eyeliner
he likes lookin' like a bad boy, you know him lol
you two definitely fit in with each other so well
like if soulmates were a thing, you two being together would be fate!
katherine pierce - romantic
okay so katherine def saw you as competition first
she was like
“ugh she likes she so better than me? bull 🙄🙄”
but you decide to try and get around her little grudge and force her to hang out with you
she then sees how cool you are and becomes your friend!
after hanging out for a while you two develop feelings for each other, especially katherine
like homegirl has fallen haaarrrdddd
every thing about is just so perfect and not to mention, just your style and your personality tie it all in together
so she asks you out after a lil and ofc you say yes
you two def do each other's makeup
you show katherine new tips that she swore she's always known (no she never has lol)
matching outfits are definitely a thing between you two, too!
katherine just loves you so much and really just supports yo u101% 24/7 :))
————
hope you liked this! :))

Warnings: Mentions of drinking, death of character
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x Fem!Reader
Prompt 3: Kissing down the back of someone's neck.
Requested by: @nalledimessi
Tumblr media
You can see the anger rolling off of Elijah. His body is tense, and he reminds you of a leopard ready to pounce on its prey. And you can’t have that, even if Klaus deserved it. Hope was somewhere in the compound and you weren’t going to let her get hurt, even if Klaus had just killed your best friend baby vampire trainee.
It was a shame really. You had liked Gia. She’d been kind, and the two of you had enjoyed teasing Elijah. She also hadn’t tried hitting on your husband, and had been very respectful of your relationship. That was rare. More often than not, vampires saw Elijah as something to conquer; a status symbol.
You tug Elijah towards you, and he goes. You whisper in his ear, “Go home. We don’t want to chance hurting Hope. Go. I’ll handle Klaus.”
His eyes flicker to you, and then he’s gone.
Klaus smirks down at you from the railing, “You’re going to handle me sister dear?”
You sigh. You’ve always been able to see through your brother-in-law. “Klaus, whatever plan you’re working, it better be good. Because he is pissed. She might have been a baby vamp, but she was his baby vamp.”
He’s in front of you a second later, “I thought you’d appreciate me taking care of the competition.”
“There is no competition. I’ve been married to your brother for a thousand years. Neither of us has ever strayed.”
Klaus shrugs, and turns away. You place a hand on his shoulder. And he nods at you, “Go calm my big brother down. I doubt he’ll let anyone else near him right now.”
You vanish a second later. You find Elijah on the couch, a half empty bottle of scotch on the table that was previously untouched, and a half empty glass. You sit down next to him and take the glass. You down it.
“I hate him.”
“No you don’t. You love him, and that’s why you’re so mad.”
He snarls, the veins around his eyes darkening,  “I hate him!”
You reach forward and grip his chin, “Elijah.”
His eyes return to normal, “I’m sorry. I’m not mad at you.”
“I know. Go lay down on the bed and take off your shirt.”
He raises an eyebrow but does as asked. You grab the lotion and head over to the bed. You make him turn over so he’s lying on his stomach. You warm the lotion in your hands and then start massaging his back. Knots have built up over the past few days, and you take your time working them all out. Eventually, his body relaxes.
Quietly he admits, “She reminded me of Revna. She made me think of how she would have been.”
Your hands still and he looks back at you. You bite your lip. It’s been years since he’s mentioned your daughter. Decades actually. Your daughter had been three years old when the two of you had been changed by Ester. When you had woken up, your daughter had been gone, and Ester had refused to tell you where she was. At the time she had blamed what you now were, and had promised that she’d bring her back when you were in control. Now, you knew it was because of Dahlia. But according to Freya, your daughter had never made her way to the witch.
You bend forward and starting at his hairline, you press kisses down the back of Elijah’s neck.  You continue down his spine until you reach the waistband of his pants. And then you run your hands up his spine to his shoulders. You lay your body down and over his. You don’t think of your daughter often, it hurts too much. Despite it having been a thousand years.
You lay there, on top of him, for several moments. “She reminded me of her too. I think about it sometimes. How she would have looked all grown up. I like to think that we would have been friends as well as mother and daughter. You would be overprotective. You’d glare at any boy or girl she brought home.”
“No one would have been good enough for her.”
And that’s how you fall asleep. You wake up to Rebebkah storming into your apartment. Neither of you startle, but then you see the look on her face. You straighten, and she simply says, “You need to come now.”
You and Elijah follow her to the Rousseau’s. You pause in the doorway, with Elijah right behind you when you catch sight of who’s there: Ester. And sitting in her lap, looking the  exact same as she had a thousand years ago, is your daughter.
You nearly freeze, when you hear her call for you in the old language. Then you’re across the room, and yanking her away from Ester. She’s real. You can hold her. You can feel her. You listen as she babbles in the old language. Elijah’s arms wrap around you, and Revna smiles at him and reaches for him. He takes her while glaring at his mother.
“It’s only been a few hours for her. I put her to sleep to hide her from Dhalia until she could be stopped. And since that moment seems upon us, I told Freya where she was and we woke her.”
You don’t know what to say. Your hatred for the woman in front of you burns brighter than your hatred for anyone else. But you refuse to waste any time on her. And as you look at your husband's siblings, your desire to end Dahlia quickly becomes your number one goal. You’re determined to keep your daughter and niece safe. But for now, you’re simply going to hold her close.

Twins: A Kol Mikaelson Headcanon
Request from Anon: hiii can you please a kol x pregnant women reader where she gives birth to twin girls and the whole family meets them please??
Hope this is okay for you lovely, and enjoy x
Tumblr media
Elijah, Klaus, Marcel. Three uncles.
Freya, Keelin, Rebekah, Hayley. Four aunts.
Hope. One cousin.
Eight family members.
You total up how many people will be arriving at your home later on, how many people your two girls will have that love them. Two girls. Two tiny bundles that are in their cradle at the end of the bed you share with their father.
Ah yes, their father. Kol makes it nine.
And then you make it ten.
Those two little girls, those twins that you gave birth to only a matter of days ago will have ten people who love them, all of which are getting ready to meet them. You smile as you think about the love that will surround your daughters, and it’s then that Kol walks in.
You watch as he bends down over the cradle. “And how are my three favourite ladies today?” He looks up at you and winks.
“Tired,” you respond, snuggling into him as he joins you on the bed. “But excited.”
Kol has you figured out. “You’re just excited for the presents,” he teases. You hit him playfully, and he feigns pain. It’s then that the doorbell rings and Kol is the first to pick up one of his daughters. You smile as he kisses her on the forehead, before picking up the other.
It’s time for the Mikaelson family to meet their newest additions.
Your girls are little miracles, you both know that, and you both guard them with your lives. It’s not long before your living room is full of your family. You and Kol are no longer holding your daughters, as they’ve been passed from family member to family member.
Klaus is holding one at the moment, and he smiles at you. He’s a good father, and you can already tell he’s going to be a good uncle. “Are you sure these are Kol’s, Y/N? They’re far too beautiful.” You laugh as Kol scowls at his older brother. You know that your girls are going to be heartbreakers. “Well, in that case Nik, they’re definitely his.” You lean up and kiss Kol’s cheek, bringing back that smile you so adore.
He kisses the top of your head before moving over to talk to Rebekah. You turn your attention back to Hope, who’s looking down on one of her cousins with awe. She’s fifteen now, and she’s been through a hell of a lot, but it doesn’t stop you from remembering the words she spoke to you whilst you were pregnant. “I’m going to be like a big sister to them, Auntie Y/N.”
Looking at her now, you can see it, and it warms your heart.
You listen in on Kol’s conversation with Rebekah, hearing words that only amplify your love for the people in this room even more. “They’re Mikaelsons, Kol. They’ll be protected at all costs. Family above all, remember?”
You’ve tried to ignore the implications of your daughters’ birthright, the fact that they’ll be at risk because of who they are. It scares you that you might not be able to keep them safe, but Rebekah’s words, and the nine other people who so clearly adore the girls, are enough to reassure you that they’ll never be left behind.
You walk over and wrap your arm around Kol’s waist, leaning your head on his shoulder. Everything is perfect, made even more so when he speaks. “We did a good job, didn’t we darling?”
“I would say so.”
It’s terrifying becoming a parent but as you survey the room for the final time, your daughters now in the arms of Freya and Keelin, not a single person taking their eyes off the two girls, not a single person without a smile, you know that you won’t be alone.
Elijah, Klaus, Marcel. Freya, Keelin, Rebekah, Hayley. Hope.
And your twins’ father, the man you love more than anything.
Kol Mikaelson.

Halloween Event
Your niece arriving back in New Orleans wasn’t exactly a surprise. The witches had seen it coming and swarmed to you. They were still scared of her. You found it rather amusing. Imagining that Klaus would be proud of it.
Though when Hope finally arrived, a few days later than the witches had predicted, she had in two a set of twins. The scent that radiated off them hung in the air in sweet notes of mouth watering power that hung in the air and soured.
“You’re in time for the Halloween festival. You should leave those two though.” You muttered as you dressed in the costume that Vincent had sent you. Freya normally took charge of the Halloween festival and you lolled around looking bored, not helping, waiting for the feeding frenzy the boon of tourists brought with them. Now, however, you were waiting among the trees at the edge of the Mikaelson property. You were supposed to lead the girls to meet Vincent at the other end of the woods so they could stay with some of the wolves that remind of Hayley’s days in the bayou and some of the witches that didn’t want to be in the Quarter when the vampires fed.
“Vampires pretending to be humans pretending to be vampires … How avant-garde!” one of the twins said. You turned and looked her up and down. Josie, Hope had mentioned their names. You hadn’t really cared enough to remember. The girl was leaning casually against a tree. If she had been trying not to look smug at her comment, she was failing, miserably.
“How would someone as sheltered as you know what would count as avant-garde.” you said in a way that made it clear you didn’t want an answer. But from the look on the girl's face, she was going to give you one anyway.
“What is the point of pretending. The dozen vampire attacks that are sure to happen will lure all the attention right here.” Josie said. You turned, rather quickly, and Hope was quick to rush between the two of you.
“What she means is, that she hasn’t been to New Orleans before and she doesn’t know how things work here. It seems unlikely to work in her experience of vampires.” Hope explained quickly. You were satisfied with the way the girl flinched. She pushed off the tree and stepped closer to her sister who was glaring at you.
“We’ve done fine without her opinions. We’ll do fine for many more years.” You answered curtly and started to lead the way through the woods. Joise stared at you, a lot, as you cleared the way through the woods. You had the sense that she wanted to argue with you, question you. After all you’d told them that they had to stay in New Orleans but hadn’t told them why. Freya had mentioned it but if you were honest you hadn’t given it much thought, as the last Mikaelson vampire in town, you were the one to chase the big bads away. At the time you had things far more serious to worry about than little witches.
“Will you be long?” Hope asked. She was nervous. You shrugged and reached out to squeeze her shoulder as Vincent came into view and you paused, midstride. She stopped with you. The twins looked at each other and stopped too.
“I wouldn’t trust anyone. It should be over by morning. Freya should be back then.” You told her. She nodded and Josie cleared her throat. You turned, gave her such a hard glare that you were sure a shiver of nerves shot through her.
“Will Freya help us with the spell, so we can go home?” Josie asked quickly. Her sister muttered and agreed.
“I assume so. I don’t see why else she’d bring you all this way.” You answered. Both twins seemed genuinely pleased at your answer and followed Hope towards the gathered group of witches. Josie and her sister glanced back over their shoulders at you. But you headed in the opposite direction to Vincent.

May I ask for a part 2 of Winchester reader and Elijah?
Yes you can☺. A part two of this so enjoy.
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x Winchester!F!Reader
Warnings: fluff, Elijah being a simp, angst,
Y/N was pissed after having gotten off the phone with her brothers. Y/N had been in New Orleans for two weeks going on three Y/N was healed so Dean wanted her to come back to the bunker. Since finding out about the prophecy, Dean's thought locking his big sister in the bunker was a great idea to keep her from getting pregnant while Castiel had informed him that Heaven will stop at nothing to be sure she have the child.
"Still nothing?" Elijah asked looking her over find her just gorgeous dressed in sleep shorts one of his botton up her reddish brown hair up in a messy bun with reading glasses on her nose.
"It was just Dean calling again. As for news on the baby front I have found nothing so far but I'll find something as your library is bigger than the bunker's."
"Dean wants you back home?" Elijah asked taking his suit jacket off then sliding behind her on the floor. Y/N smiled leaning back against his chest kissing the under side of his jaw.
"More like lock me away. But I am comfortable here....safe besides I have no problem having the kid as much as Dean is."
"Why are you comfortable having the baby?" Elijah couldn't help ask resting his chin on her shoulder as Y/N laced her fingers with his only doing that when she was going to remembering painful memory.
"A sense of normalcy.... you know how rough John trained me. Maybe I just want out.....to come back to you." Y/N whispered her heart aching as Elijah pulled her close gently grabbing her chin tilting her head back kissing her softly.
"I'll be your sense of normalcy, love." Elijah said softly as tears filled her eyes making her turn and hug him burying her face in his neck. Next few days Y/N was digging through books as Freya and Davina used magic to try and help.
"Where are you keeping her you bloodsucker!" Y/N heard Dean yell making her rush down stairs to find Dean pointing a gun at Elijah who was way too calm about the whole thing while Sam was watching Klaus and Kol closely.
"I am not holding Y/N against her will."
"For Chuck's sake Dean!" Y/N shouted coming down the stairs surprising Sam and Dean with how okay she looked. Elijah brighten up see his lady and finding attractive with her being angry while dressed in his shirt.
"Y/N?! Why are you still here?"
"Looking for answers about this prophecy. Now stop threatening Elijah."
"Elijah? Oh this is that Elijah." Sam said as Y/N nodded confusing Dean while Elijah felt his heart swell with joy that she talked about him. Y/N had only told Sam about Elijah not Dean as she knew how her little brother would act.
"Look we agreed to keep you in the bunker."
"No Dean, you agreed to keep me in the bunker. I didn't agree to a damn thing." Y/N said annoyed as Elijah stepped up behind her rubbing her shoulders.
"Y/N! We got something!" Davina said and Y/N was quick up the stairs with the others following.
"Is it?"
"We tried many things but Davina though of trying a spell mixing your blood with every old supernatural in New Orleans to work off that and well...." Freya trailed of as Y/N raised an eyebrow while Elijah moved next to her still hating the idea of her be touched by another.
"Elijah is the father of the child." Davina said just getting it out and everyone in the room was surprised. Elijah gently took Y/N's hand making her look at him and she blushed brightly as he kissed her knuckles with an under readable look in his mocha eyes.
"Y/N, you can't have the kid." Dean said making her look at Dean with her arms crossed.
"Why not?"
"Because you are a huntress and a baby isn't safe in this line of work." Dean said making her glare at her brother as anger flashed though her.
"I didn't choose this life Dean!" Y/N growled as Dean frowned looking at her as Kol moved to protect Davina just in case and Klaus doing the same with Freya.
"Sorry to break it to you but this is the family business."
"Is it? Or just the ghost John was chasing!? Dean, I had fucking died, went to Hell, killed and hunted. So why can't I be happy?"
"Y/N this isn't you. This is the prophecy speaking." Dean said as Y/N glared walking out of the room and her brothers followed and Elijah was quick to follow also.
"This is me Dean! A girl who had hopes and dreams! I never wanted this fucking life! Did John tell you I faked my death and ran off just so I could have a normal life?" Y/N said throwing her hunting journal at Dean who caught it noticing she hadn't wrote about monsters she hunted but her life with Elijah and what she wanted.
"For five years I was happy, for five years I had a normal life with Elijah, for five years I planned to have a baby with the man I love." Y/N said tears filling her eyes as Elijah stood shocked just as her brothers.
"But no John came and tore all away. So what if my child is the next Prophet! So what their father is a vampire! I just want something normal." Y/N said full on sobbing as everything up until then had broke what little self control she had. Elijah rushed to her side pulling her into his arms cooing softly and picked her up when he felt her legs shake.
"Please leave. When she is calm I'll have her call you." Elijah said his tone had been light but the dark glit in his eye told them all the needed to know and left. Elijah moved to the bed waiting for his girl to stop crying.
"So...so...sorry Eli." Y/N hiccupped as she slowly stopped crying. Elijah smiled gently peppering her wet face with kisses.
"No need baby even when crying your eyes out you are still beautiful. And I imagine you needed that." Elijah said making Y/N giggle wrapping her arms around him. Y/N moved so she was straddling his lap cupping his face kissing him deeply.
"Are you sure?" Elijah asked knowing were the kiss was going as he gripping her hips.
"Yes Eli.....making the feelings go away." Was all Elijah needed to hear as he kissed Y/N hungrily letting all his pent up feelings for her out. Y/N panted laying on Elijah as his fingers ran down her back.
"Wow....I forgot how amazing you were." Y/N muttered against his bare chest as Elijah chuckled pulling her up kissing her softly.
"And I forgot that you held such beauty." Elijah tells Y/N cupping her cheek rubbing it making her blush brightly. Y/N hit his chest while hiding her face in his neck.
"Getting shy on me now." Elijah teased her as Y/N nipped at his neck just below his ear making him growl flipping them over.
"Do that again and I won't go easy on you."
"Bring it.... Sir." Y/N teased Elijah nipping the spot just bel oil w his ear again and Elijah made sure she couldn't walk for a week both unaware of the new Mikaelson that will be coming into the world soon.
